Lovely hotel just needs a few tweaks
Pros:

Beautiful setting, love the calmness of the hotel
Breakfast was amazing and a lovely room to have it in

Cons:

Our room was cold, heating not working, no room to sit in bar fir drink and lounge very bland and lifeless
Staff not very friendly

Wo sind die 4 Sterne?

Außer dem äußeren Erscheinungsbild leider nichts

Cons:

Abgelegen, fussläufig ist nichts erreichbar. Wohl eher ein Rentnerparadies - vor langer Zeit bestimmt ein tolles Hotel was aber mit den Jahren absolut nicht mehr mit einem 4 Sterne Hotel standhalten kann. Außerdem absolut steif und nicht kulant gegenüber seinen Kunden. Krankheitsbedingt mussten wir vorzeitig abreisen und das Hotel hat uns den Preis nicht erstattet, das ist absolut inakzeptabel. Zimmer waren zwar tipptopp aber außerhalb der Zimmer schaut man besser nicht genau hin- Staub und Spinnweben…

A comfortable one night stay.

Comfortable room. Newly renovated bathroom with walk in shower. Friendly staff. Good parking. Excellent breakfast.

Cons:

We had a problem with a lack of heating in our room but a few portable heaters soon sorted out the problem.

A well received gift as great place with friendly staff and tasty food.
Pros:

Got this as an anniversary gift for my parents and they lived the place. Staff were friendly and hotel was clean with a great junior suite room.

Fabulous dog-friendly hotel with a great room and fantastic food.
Pros:

Beautiful location and very friendly, helpful staff. Food was AMAZING and good value for money with a great selection of English wines. And this was a truly dog friendly hotel- not just one that tolerated dogs.

Cons:

It was a tiny bit cold, but great warm duvet so cozy in bed.

The building is pretty cool, our room was very clean, the breakfast was good and the staff were friendly.

Cons:

The rooms were cold. Given the historic status of the building I expected more authentic interiors and they lacked warmth. The dinner wasn't great and quite overpriced.
