Comfortable and great location
Pros:

Comfortable and clean. Limited menu but was offered a curry dish upon request. Food was good.

Cons:

Limited lighting in the bedroom and quite expensive drinks.

Nice wee hotel, great for my trip, would stay again.
Pros:

Nice evening meal and delicious breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Cons:

Nice hotel but was a little disappointed my room wasn't cleaned properly, there was dried up used teabags under the table, a guest presumably missed the bin and then missed by cleaning staff. There were also a few cobwebs and the bathroom floor could have done with a proper clean. Please don't misread this as it was filthy, it was just needing a bit more attention to detail cleaning.

Disappointed
Pros:

Great cooked breakfast, good location.

Cons:

We had booked there because we had stayed before and previously found it good and very welcoming. We even booked the same room. However, the hotel was under new ownership, the room had not been cleaned before we checked in, there was a flood of rainwater on the floor from an open window which we had to clean up ourselves with the room towels, the corridor and stairways were not clean and the staff were either very stretched or non existent. Top prices charged were just not justified. We were so shocked at our experience that we left after one night, having booked two nights.

Great little hotel in a small village offering a comfortable environment after a long days walking.
Pros:

Located on the path of the Pennine Way the property was ideally located. The property was clean throughout and well equipped with the usual essentials, tea, coffee, etc. The employees were all pleasant and attentive. The menu was good and included a homemade Indian special which was excellent. The property looked newly refurbed.

Cons:

Nothing comes to mind.

Rustig verblijf in een mooi hotel
Pros:

De locatie is gunstig als je the Hadrian's Wall Path wandelt. Mooi en goed gerenoveerd hotel. De host is enthausiast en relaxed.

Cons:

De douche blijft niet op constante temperatuur. Als iemand anders in het hotel warm water gebruikt, heb je een koude douche.

Convenient
Pros:

The hotel is conveniently placed along the Hadrian's Wall path. The room was spacious and had everything you needed, we especially appreciated the cookies and water provided after a long hike. The dinner options were varied and the Indian food was delicious.

Cons:

It was our second stay at this place and we could feel the difference in the ownership. While the previous owners lived and breathed being a dog-friendly place, the new tenants clearly tried but seemed more reserved. Compared to our previous stay, the breakfast experience was slightly disappointing.

Ok voor een nacht, voor de duurste kamer geboekt op Hadrian's Wall hadden we meer en beter verwacht.
Pros:

Dit hotel ligt op 400 meter van Hadrian's Wall. Het hotel is groot en er zijn restaurantfaciliteiten; er is een café aan de overkant en het is gecombineerd met een hostel aan de overkant.
Het hotel is zeer recentelijk overgenomen.

Cons:

Het was op onze trip de duurste accommodatie. Hoewel de kamers groot en ruim waren miste het charme en een authentieke feel, de uitstraling kwam niet overeen met de verwachtingen.
De kamers waren eveneens koud, de donsdekens waren niet dik genoeg. Het personeel wist ons wel nog een extra donsdeken voor 1 persoon klaar te zetten wat het probleem deels oploste.
Ik denk dat er een extra last mile moet gebeuren voor de klant om deze prijs te rechtvaardigen.
(geen drank serveren met een vuil glas, een extra deken voorzien in de kast voor klanten die het koud kunnen hebben, voorzien van een medische kit met ontsmettingsvloeistof of ontsmettingswipes)

Pros:

Only a few minutes from Hadrin's Wall. We had the family room and it was perfect for 3 adults.
Dinner and breakfast were great. Would stay any time again. Very friendly staff.
