Hotel Onrock

Excellent. Clean and comfortable with magnificent views. They are building an infinite pool on the roof that should be ready in a few months. The views will be even more spectacular.
Breakfast was also very good. Interesting, fresh and tasty. The staff were very attentive.
I would happily come back

Amazing view of Ella rock from our bedroom.

The location of the hotel is up a steep hill with no lights when the sunsets, so therefore as a single female traveller it makes it difficult to get down to the main road of the town.

The food was mediocre and disappointing when it came to a curry which was potato in water and not a curry sauce.

The bathroom is dated and the toilet seats do not fit correctly. The room was not clean and the bedding and pillows need to be washed as they were very sweaty and smelly and made it uncomfortable to sleep. Additionally the kitchen staff make a lot of noise at night and in the early morning

We had an excellent stay in that property (3nights March 2025) It located on the hill so the views from the balcony are spectacular. Still just a few steps from the center of town. Very good breakfast with lots of options. Exceptional stuff, especially the manager who was very informative, helpful and kind. The only down was the bathroom which I'd say needed some renovations and the noise coming from the construction going on at the front of the hotel but I understand at some point they have to do it. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in my life..
They are charging 200$ per night and There is no hot water in the room.
Rooms were totally different than advertised..
Towels are very dirty, breakfast is so bad.
It was horrible stay , waste of money!!

Nice room, clean and very accessible to the Main Street. Good view of the waterfall and mountain from our deck but the decks were not private at all!!
Easy place to stay!

Great for a short stay in Ella - located very centrally although up a hill so difficult for a car to get up - they have an on-site tuk tuk to help with luggage up the hill. Lovely, modern bathroom and comfortable bed. Staff very accommodating.

Old and tired hotel, minimal breakfast options and hot food was all barely lukewarm. We had no hot water, shower wasn’t even lukewarm it was cold which was an issue that we reported immediately to staff who checked and said that was as good as it gets!
Staff were all very pleasant, polite and friendly.

Ella is all hills - so it’s a 6 minute steep walk to Onrock or 1 minute drive but that’s better than almost every other place. It’s upscale for Ella though short of 4 star luxury. Breakfast excellent. It’s fun and convenient and the 2 of us from USA strongly recommend.

The staff at OnRock were excellent. But, there wasa steep climɓ getting to the hotel.

We booked a room with garden view and we got one with a horrible view on the back (the front has view on the mountains) where there is no garden whatsoever but the skeleton of a broken building. I cannot believe they sell these rooms at such price with such an ugly view.

I’m sorry to say we didn’t enjoy our stay here. To start with the good the staff were helpful and friendly. To the bad, the bed and pillows were awful and very uncomfortable. The fittings in the room were poor. The hotel is noisy and has building work all around. We had the worst nights sleep at this hotel and left feeling shattered.

The view from our room was absolutely amazing and the bedroom was very comfortable. The bathroom on the other hand not the best, quite dark and the shower had quite a bit of black mould stains and needed a deep clean. Steep walk to get down to Ella and back to the hotel again. Would most likely return for the views from the room

Good property. Rooms were as presented online. The staff were very attentive and helpful. I would recommend staying there in Ella.

Great view of Little Adam’s Peak and Ella’s Rock (and a waterfall). Pretty comfortable bed. Convenient furniture in the room. Unexpectedly good breakfast. Good service and very nice personel.

Wonderful 3 nights here. Unfortunately, we booked a garden view room so not much to look at and no chairs on the balcony. Springing for the mountain view room would be worth the extra money! Staff and service are excellent. Clean, comfortable and modern decor room, plus the rainfall shower is superb after enduring the heat and humidity!
Breakfast is sufficient and good. The property would get my 5 star review if there was some outdoor seating areas, which I believe is in the works. Overall, the friendly and top notch staff make this place stand out.
Super easy to walk down to the Main Street for entertainment and abundant eateries.
Would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a fantastic, and quiet place to stay while in Ella.

Ongoing renovations made being in the hotel between 8 am & 4 pm unbearable.

The hotel has stunning views with large modern rooms clean and comfortable
but be prepared for a bit of a climb to get there. If you’re carrying heavy luggage or not a fan of steep walks, it might be a challenge. we walked down for dinner and used tuktuk on every trip back up. Basic Breakfast was included But you probably better opt for nicer selection on the restaurants on the main street. The staff were friendly and accommodating many thanks to Kavindu who was super helpful and attentive
price is a bit on the high end but that's what you pay for prime location. we will defiantly recommend this place to our friends
