Breakfast was okay but the last time we stayed the breakfast was cooked to order not the present buffet style.
We always enjoy the bar, but feel it has slightly been down graded into a sports bar. A large area has been given over to a pool table as well as two dart boards.
I think it would be better to find a games room for Pool and darts and return the bar to its original glory.
There was a great Elvis night on Friday and it wasn't the same with a pool table taking up so much space.
The hotel and the staff were lovely, very friendly. Tracy on reception was brilliant.
The hotel was very close to everything we did do no driving involved once we arrived.
Nothing r
The Royal Hotel is situated so close to the town centre and also the beach. The staff are friendly and the food is excellent.
They were doing maintenance on the hotel bar so this was out of action for one day and night of my holiday.
The place was OK, breakfast was nice and the location was great. All members of staff were very friendly and helpful.
We had issues with the heat in our room, the radiator thermostat was broken and it was very uncomfortable. We had to block the toddler from the radiator and the windows as it was quite unsafe. One of the windows was loose and slip down.
Breakfast was good.
Location was good and we had a sea view.
The bed was only a small double ,should have been bigger. Every where you walked the floor creeked. The floor from the bathroom to the opposite wall sloped into the middle of th

Breakfast was standard. Good location
Rooms were very hot and beds v bouncy
Everything apart from the shower
The shower was shocking. Runs intermittently hot and cold with no water pressure
The staff were very welcoming, upgraded us free to a sea view room as it was my partners birthday. Perfect location as it was central to the shops, beach, pier, restaurants & pubs. The room was lovely , although the carpet was shabby & had a very bad worn patch by the bed , ignoring that the room was spotlessly clean , lovely deep bath & powerful shower. We didn’t use the trouser press but there was no socket close to it even if we wanted to. The bed was really comfortable, nice pillows. The food in the bar was really nice & lots of it. I had the beef burger, homemade onion rings, chips & homemade coleslaw & my partner had the southern fried chicken burger chips , homemade onion rings & coleslaw too, both big portions. The prices were reasonable too. The free parking with plenty of spaces was a huge bonus also.
Apart from the patch of worn carpet , I can’t think of anything to complain about & I can’t wait to return for another break there.
The staff were lovely and location near to everything
Pillows rock hard we had a room opposite a pub noise at night kept us awake till early hours but my son who had a room with sea view had a good night so will ask for that next time
Kaunis vanha rakennus, suuri, moderni kylpyhuone
Viikonloppuöinä ulkoa kuuluva meteli vaikeutti nukkumista, vastamelukuulokkeet auttoivat
Very large and comfortable room.
Nothing we didn't like.
Great location , had a sea view very comfy bed
Shower not very good water not very warm . Windows could have done with a clean. Breakfast thought expensive the hot food dishes were empty had to wait ages for fresh cooked food then the bacon looked raw so avoided that and the eggs didn’t look fully cooked so again avoided.
Beautiful hotel, lovely room.
Our room was on the noisy side, disturbed until 3am.
Great location. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble for any of them. We had a Seaview room which was lovely. The room was large and comfortable with a very large bathroom but for some reason the shower screen was fixed which left me struggling a little bit. We also booked the Carvery for Sunday lunch and that was excellent and was reasonably priced.
We had a small issue with the car park as it’s free for guests but is pay and display for others, which on our return from a day out of the Saturday we could not find a space. Thankfully we only had to wait a short while for a car to leave but at busy times in the Summer that could be an issue.
Nice hotel. Old and quirky. Excellent location. Witherspoons 5 minutes walk away. Bed comfy.
Hotel a bit tired in places but with such an old building it's in keeping with its character.
