Element by Westin Calgary Airport

On a recent trip to Calgary, I made a terrible mistake. Instead of booking a room at the Airport Element Hotel, I booked one at the Downtown Element Hotel. After a tiring five-hour drive, I presented by passport and credit card to the receptionist expecting a straight forward check in. When no reservation in my name was found, I checked the confirmation and discovered my mistake. Resigned to accept the situation, I headed out the door to my car. Before I got very far, I thought I heard my name being called. I turned around to see Karlyn from the Front Desk. She said that she could help me. Returning to the Front Desk, she placed a call to the Downtown Element Hotel on a private line. She very professionally explained my situation and after several minutes of back and forth, she was able to negotiate cancellations of my room at the downtown hotel and have my payment transferred to the Airport one. During the process she was ably assisted by a senior colleague—regrettably, I did not obtain his business card.
I always stay at this hotel when I visit Calgary. I find the rooms very comfortable and particularly like the kitchen amenities. I have always found the Front Desk staff members to be very friendly and professional. That they went far above and beyond this time, I think is testament to true hospitality.

It was okay, but the property photos make the rooms look way more high-end than they actually are. It's not as nice as I thought it would be.

Been staying here for a couple times . Staff always nice ,room is big very kids friendly with a kitchen in the room .

Always a good experience

Put this hotel at number one! Highly recommend. Clean basic rooms with safe ,coffee maker, microwave and small refrigerator. Large bathrooms. Indoor underground parking. The breakfast is exceptional. They will make you a freshly made egg, cheese and guacamole wrap. They do not use paper or styrofoam plates.nor do they use plastic utensils. I have been suggesting this for years. Thank you thank you. Responsible corporation. They also provide cereals, fruit, yogurt, specialty teas, croissants, bagels, muffins, juices. They had a very selection.

We had an excellent stay here. Customer service was so friendly and welcoming, room was quiet, clean and spacious. Breakfast was so delicious every morning, the variety and quality was great. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

Wasnt a 6 class hotel as advertized . Carpets dity, elevator dirty, hallways dirty

Pet-friendly

Stayed here with my wife and dog. It's nice that this hotel lived up to Mariott hotels expectations. Breakfast was free so it was great, although, same dishes were served on our 2 night stay. Initially, our thermostat was not working. We arrived late just past 8pm so we only noticed that it wasn't working when we were settled in after dinner around 10pm. Props to Sara the concierge and Maintenance guy, under 5mins, he was at our door and was able to fix it immediately.
Good lobby ambiance.
Great room amenities- including water pressure from shower. Hairdryer, Iron, kitchen stuff were already available.
Underground parking is also available which needs a code to enter. This made me feel safe.

Room for improvement:
1. Maintenace has to improve- leakage happening wherein you would see buckets catching the droplets. Prior to check in of guest, the thermostat should have been functional and checked by housekeeping. Ice machine was not functional on our 1st night at the 3rd floor and 5th floor. I had to go to the 7th floor to get some ice.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay enough to ignore the cons and give this a 5 star. Definitely worth coming back to.

Having a kitchenette was amazing. It had pots, bowls, cutlery, a full fridge/freezer, microwave and a dishwasher. Super convenient with kids.

The property was close to my event venue and distance to the Mall was good.
