Small, can't stand up, floor filthy, no staff available
Pros:

Location is fantastic, a short walk to shops and beach. The Central Short Stay car park is just a little further up the high street. You can buy a tourist parking pass for £10 a day that allows you to use any public car park on the island - good value for money.

Cons:

We were in the top room which is essentially the attic, in the eaves. We had to stoop to walk around the room. It's also very small.

The bath is tiny!

The room generally seemed clean, the bed linen was clean but the worst thing was the layer of dust\dirt on the floor around the bathroom basin washstand. It was thick, several inches in diameter and you could write your name in it. It meant that the whole floor hadn't been properly cleaned for, most likely, months as it was an undisturbed thick layer of grime. It was easily seen as well which just makes you wonder who on earth is cleaning the rooms...

We tried various times over our two-night stay to find the manager\proprietor, Brian, but no one was ever around (except for evenings in the bar on the ground floor where there were many customers sitting drinking so no privacy to approach him to address the issues).

We don't know what size the other rooms are, or how clean but it was very disappointing to be in this one - it's such a cramped space with no warning, the dirty bathroom floor, and the lack of access to staff, who appeared to be only Brian, who was nowhere to be seen during the daytime.

I felt welcome and enjoyed my stay.
Pros:

It is centrally located in beautiful Ventnor High Street on the Isle of Wight. A lovely clean bright and airy room with a choice of bath or shower over head. The staff are friendly and welcoming.

Cons:

I liked everything I cannot find any fault.

A lot better than I expected.
Pros:

It was near the public transport ,right in the centre of the shopping area and a short walk to the sea front. A real little hidden gem, quirky and quaint.I would highly recommend.

Cons:

Would have preferred a shower to a bath. But it was a last minute booking and just a personal preference.

Will not be returning.
Pros:

Location was good. Bedding and towels lovely.

Cons:

The bathroom was so old it looked so dirty and was in most places. Shower cable was brown and rusty so didn’t go in shower. Also bathroom door did not shut fully. Kettle was so old and dirty looking, it was not used. Room was generally dusty. I was room three and the noise from apartment underneath from the television was so loud I had no sleep. I left at 630 in morning just to get away from noise. No where to put key downstairs so had to leave on floor by the door.

Great place, super location, friendly people
Pros:

No 24 is right in the centre of Ventnor which is a lovely town with a beautiful seafront. The bar downstairs is very friendly with lots of local people. The rooms are upstairs with a separate entrance or via the bar. The owner Brian is really nice and hospitable. Super Spanish restaurant ‘The Basque Kitchen’ is virtually opposite and the Spyglass on the seafront is just fabulous.

Excellent friendly price conscious stay with excellent hosts.
Pros:

Great friendly staff, superb location, really good base for the weekend wedding we were attending.

Cons:

For the price paid it was perfect to be honest, we used it as a base for a weekend celebration in the town. We had a loft room and the only obvious thing there was the height of the ceilings but like I say for a base it was perfect.
