Pros:

The architecture of the hotel was splendid and the location

Cons:

I called in the day of my booking asking details about any charges for pets, the lady at the phone told me that there isn't any as we have a cat, not a dog. Arrived at the hotel, 5 months later and they told me that I have to pay £10 per night because of our cat, which we paid without any other discussion. We checked in and figured it out that the bathroom floor was full of hair on the corners and the bathroom bin hasn't been emptied, it was full of dirty nappies. The lady from the reception came to empty it. The following 2 days, when they were cleaning, in none of them the bathroom was cleaned properly, we had to go and ask for handsoap, we had to go and ask for toilet paper. At breakfast, in our last day, the chef was dressed more like a painter than a cook, I doubt that any food hygiene rules apply. Overall, this will be a place that probably will never visit and would not recommend.

Pros:

Good location. Most of the staff were friendly and welcoming. The food (dinner & breakfast) was decent. Our room was very quiet, and the beds were comfy.

Cons:

The place has clearly seen better days and feels a bit run down. The restaurant, bar, and corridors were all very cold (had to wear a scarf to dinner!) while our room was too hot (the heater wouldn't turn off and we had to leave a window open). No working fan in the bathroom, either.

Cons:

Breakfast was poor, I had called in advance to ensure Gluten free was available , very little was. Staff were no where to be found, we were asked to sit down at @ table then just left. No staff around when we wanted to ask what to do next. Buffet cooked breakfast which was Luke warm and obviously been sitting there for a while. No gluten free bread available, when I asked the waitress ‘huffed’ and went into the kitchen. Tea and coffee was in flasks and cold.

Great homely hotel, clean with brilliant breakfast, would recommend.
Pros:

Good location, homely atmosphere, clean. Cooked breakfast was brilliant, better than many 5 star hotels.

Cons:

Nothing to be honest, it was a perfectly acceptable place to stay.

Pros:

Not much, all the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel was central but can't say much more

Cons:

Badly torn curtain in the room, reported but nothing done about it. Glass blown in the windows unable to see out.Carpet in the room off the bar area, dreadful. Breakfast first morning barely warm, awful tea. Had an evening meal, nothing to write home about. I got the impression that your priority was your coach customers and the casual guest was totally irrelevant.

I would be reluctant to recommend this hotel to friends.

Cons:

The beds were uncomfortable. The bathrooms had a musty smell and were exceptionally small. The Bain mare breakfast was not overly appealing.

No elevator. Limited lounge bar hours, don't expect an evening and wine at the hotel.

Cons:

Lounge bar closes at 930pm. No elevator, 30 plus stairs to room. Definately NOT suitable to people with disability
