We had our wedding at Cragwood in July this year. They went above and beyond to make this day as special as they could. We only had a very small wedding by the lake, however, Mathilda made us feel at ease and no question was ever too much. She communicated with us throughout and was always on hand if we needed anything. We travelled up from Norwich so we had not seen the venue in person, however, it was more than we could have imagined, views were beautiful, venue was gorgeous and we are just so happy to have been able to have our special day here!

Noisy. Poor internet.
The staff were excellent. The food was very good and to a high standard.
In our room the carpets were stained and didn’t look clean.
There were not enough Chanel options on the tv with no option to plug in a phone.
The dining area furniture was a poor standard.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The gardens are amazing.
The carpets need cleaning in the bedroom and renewing in the main areas. Perhaps consider hard flooring instead of carpeting.

We had such a lovely stay! The hotel is absolutely beautiful and incredibly pet-friendly. Everyone went out of their way to welcome my dog, she even got introduced to the kitchen team!
The front desk was always quick to respond and happy to help with anything we needed. We happened to visit during the heatwave, so sadly hiking wasn’t really an option, but luckily the beautiful surroundings gave my dog plenty to explore and enjoy.
No mini fridge in the room
I loved the gardens and the path down to the Lake was lovely. good open field for my dogs to run in. The bar was well stocked with coffees and teas. Close to Windermere but very busy road. The breakfast was tasty and substantial.
The Hotel was a little dated and could do with a refurbish. could do with some new furniture.

Sehr einfaches Frühstück für ein 4 Sternehaus.Wenig Personal, man musste an der Bar selbst bestellen und zum Teil eine Stunde warten. Schmutzige Tische auf der Terrasse. Die Zimmer waren veraltet und die beiden Terrassen waren schmutzig.

Lakeside location, private parklands, room, food and in particular the dog friendly staff. Grace fell I. Love with our dog and got him special treats and lots of attention.

Gorgeous view of the lake, very dog friendly, charming character
We visited during a heat wave and there was no air con so the room got very warm.

The hotels grounds are amazing it has its own private section of the lake. Staff are very friendly.
We had our micro wedding at Cragwood in July and couldn't have asked for a better day.
The venue is beautiful, with stunning views across the lake and lovely grounds that made the perfect backdrop for our photos.
A huge thank you to Mathilda for all her help during the planning process and to Alice, who was amazing on the day. Nothing was too much trouble and they both helped make the whole experience stress-free.
We decided to have a buffet rather than an afternoon tea and we're so glad we did. The food was fantastic and our guests loved it. We're still talking about the brownies!
One of the highlights of the day was the lake cruise. Although run by another company, Cragwood arranged everything for us and it was a really special experience.
We also stayed in the Bridal Suite, which was lovely and had incredible views. Every member of staff we met, from reception to the bar and restaurant teams, was friendly, welcoming and helpful.
A huge thank you to everyone at Cragwood for helping make our wedding day so memorable. We'd recommend it to anyone looking for a wedding venue in the Lake District!
The hotel location is sensational with lovely gardens and a huge frontage of Windermere lake. Our room was very nice with a ground level patio. The building is quite interesting with additions and we needed to go outside to get to the bar and restaurant. This didn’t spoil our stay. We shared a bar meal which was excellent as was our breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel appeared a little understaffed but perhaps this was down to our timing
