We couldn't even get outside, the door wouldn't open from inside!! Our roo. Didn't get get cleaned so therefore we didn't get no towels, wash rags or shampoo, the telephone didn't even have a cord on it to call downstairs. Which we told the guy when he came up to fix the door bout door wouldn't lock !! And the heater smell like it's burning so don't turn it on!! Motorcycles starting up the bikes just to listen to them at midnight or 1 am & 6 am while they are smoking!!!!! Worst hotel ever!!!!!
The room was okay.
The hall was drab and not inviting poorly kept
The lobby was nice
Tolit did not work room had a smell no towels
VERY UNCOMFORTABLE
Close the hotel down until the remodeling is finished Tub and shower runs at one time, bad plumbing. Crickets in the AC chirping all night and jumping through your room. Service is scarce. NO POOL, IT SHOULD HAVE STAYED "SOUTHGATE TIKI BAR and LOUNGE HOTEL...WE MISS YOU SUSAN
Red Roof Inn's always have a certain value since they do not serve breakfast, but in this case, although less expensive, the property condition is was questionable.
They recently have remodeled the rooms, but they are quite sterile in appearance although in reasonable condition. They chose not to upgrade the bathrooms nor windows making the overall room condition not great. The first room given had non-working outlets and lights. The second room given had an *extremely* noisy AC/heater unit (the location of the property and property itself is quite quiet when the unit was off), plus the bathroom outlets were loose and would come out of the wall. There is no exhaust ventilation and the rooms have a plastic smell from the new flooring/furniture, plus humidity builds up (there are bath vents but the building fan that should be exhausting was obviously not working). The exit closest to the room had a magnetic lock that would not release when trying to exit (which is a very significant life safety hazard)
Ultimately, all these issues are obvious, but ignored. They need to bring in professional property management and address these issues asap if they expect to stay in business.
No parking lot drinking, fix pool and clean better. Fix doors and rooms
It was acceptable. Bed and room were clean. No breakfast or pool
I love everything about this hotel the rooms are so nice and cozy definitely safe environment and it's the perfect hotel for a getaway
The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I would rate that in itself a five. I gave the overall rating a 3 because it was listed with a pool which was not working and will need to be fixed before it is operational. The clerk at check in explained that they had only converted to the Red Roof Inn over the last year and hadn't got around to fixing the pool yet. Also hope they will find a new wifi company since Spectrum is terrible. I would stay again once the pool was operational. I really was impressed with their staff and the price of the room I got was a decent price for a room in the high travel season.
Hair in the bathtub and dirty on the counter in the bathroom. Not bad for the price.
We have been staying at this hotel for years. Now that Red Roof took over we would be better off at another hotel. The Tiki Lounge is Closed. And after an all day motorcycle ride in 92 degree heat The POOL IS OUT OF SERVICE. What the heck the lounge and pool and the family that ran the place made it better than the other places in the area. Don’t know if we will be back
This is an old hotel building that was recently updated and a name change. The bed was terrible, only one trash can in the room. The ac unit was very loud and squeaky. Theres only one ice machine in the whole building and it was on the other side of the building. Our room key stopped working, then we couldn't find anyone at the front desk. We had to walk around the building until we found someone.
Stayed in room 128, sink had issues draining making shaving problematic. Beds are slightly uncomfortable if you have back issues.
Otherwise, the night stay was fine enough.
The 2 big reasons I always book at this hotel is the bar and the family that owned it. The bar was closed till sometime halfway through summer and red roof inn owns it now. The rooms have been redone and are very clean and nice. It’s an old building so there’s only so much a renovation can do. But they have done a good job. Coffee in the lobby would be nice. We will be back several times this summer
The room was not very clean. There was toothpaste on the bathroom floor, McDonald’s trash by the bed, and crumbs everywhere. They were dog friendly which is why we chose this property. The booking page listed a dog run. It was a fenced in court yard not a dog run. I took my dogs out and a random man followed me around the building wanting me to give him my key so he could get in the building. There was also a man sleeping in the grass all night just outside the exit. I did not feel safe.
This place is improved greatly since the last time I was here the lobby is much cleaner and the rooms are much nicer.
Great stay, we liked the old fashioned look.
The entrance way on the backside of the building and the hallway stunk. The entrance door and the room door didn’t shut all the way so anyone could just walk in. The room was disgusting. Lint on the vent in the bathroom. Dead bugs in the toilet. Checked the mattress. Bed bugs on the box springs dog piss stains all over the box spring sheets. Crumbs on the floor.
staff wasnt very nice
