Greenwoods Inn

I had the pleasure of spending two months at Greenwoods Inn, and I cannot recommend this place enough. From the moment I arrived, I felt warmly welcomed and genuinely cared for.

The manager, Ragish, was outstanding—super patient, considerate, and incredibly professional. He made sure that everything I needed was taken care of with a kind and thoughtful approach. The receptionist, Messo, was equally amazing, always greeting me with a smile and ensuring my stay was as comfortable as possible. And a special thanks to the chef, who not only prepared absolutely delicious meals but also took the time to check in with me to ensure I was enjoying the food. His care and attention to detail made every meal a highlight.

The view from Greenwoods Inn is breathtaking—far more stunning than any photo on their profile could capture. When the temperatures dropped, they provided excellent heating, which made the stay cozy and enjoyable. The entire property is impeccably clean, a testament to the team’s dedication to maintaining a high standard.

This place truly deserves a 10 out of 10. It was an unforgettable experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a welcoming, comfortable, and beautifully located retreat.

サービスは良く清潔で、ダラムサラに来るときはよく利用しています。ただ今回は初めて真冬の滞在でしたが、ホットウォーターがあまり出ず、時間をかけてもぬるめのお湯がバケツ1杯程度しか出ませんでした。でも部屋にヒーターを入れてくれたので、シャワー後に暖まることが出来ました。

Nice hotel with good views of the mountains. Clean and tidy. A challenge to find as it was outside the town up a winding road. The restaurant was dissapointing because the service was very slow and there was no atmosphere, although the food was good. However it is within a 10min walk of the town which has plenty of nice restaurants.

Good value for money. The hotel has great views but unfortunately my room didn't. The staff were helpful and the food was very good.
The room could be cleaner though.

Dark room, view of garbage and 1/2 done construction from windows and big rip in curtains. Very rough, narrow road to front of hotel. Restaurant and room service OK. I only had breakfast there. Tables not clean. No salt and pepper on table or offered and the server had disappeared.
Bed comfortable. Clean linens and towels.

Greenwoods is higher up the McLeod hill on the way towards Dharamkot, rather than in the city center. Yet the location offers guests a peaceful and charming view of the valley below, surrounded by a forest full of animals and walking paths. If you expect luxury this is not your place; but comfort and solitude are easily found. Food options are excellent, and every dish I had (about 14 meals total) were delicious and sanitary and well priced. Ask for a valley view room; but honestly there's not a bad view around. Next door is another hotel (Ghandi's Paradise) which is under construction and is a bit of an eyesore and chaotic mess; but don't let it discourage you from a stay at Greenwood's. The hike up and down the mountain each day is not too strenuous and offers amazing encounters with monkeys, mules, dogs and natives. The Bhagsunag Waterfall is just a short hike down into the valley from the hotel; and there are shops and other cafes nearby. Wi-fi is offered, and hot water was always reliable. Just remember, in McLeod Ganj flushing toilet paper is not allowed; and most places do not provide tissue. So, be prepared and bring your own if you need it. This is a great place, at an affordable rate, offering refuge and breathtaking vistas of the lower Himalayan mountains and forest.

Our room was freezing cold even with the space heater. The staff seemed to be annoyed each and every time we spoke to them and I would have appreciated friendlier and more helpful interactions. The food was average at best and we ate better when we ate elsewhere. It is a bit of a hike up the hill too.

It was an amazing stay at Greenwoods Inn. The property was at a great location and the service and staff was excellent and prompt. The Balcony overlooks snow laden mountains and bhagsunag Falls

Nice hotel.beautiful outside scenary.hotel staff is very cooperative.

I very much appreciate their acceding to my request for a room facing the valley. It made all the difference to our stay where we spent breakfast and afternoon tea times just soaking in the paranormic views.

More attention could be paid to the bed linen however. The mist tends to get inside the linen so the mattress felt a little damp.

Great attention to service!

Overall, it's good value for money. The distance away from the town may not be a plus point but if you are looking for some peace and tranquillity away from the madding crowd, this would be a great place to stay.

Food wise, tell them to hold the garlic and seasoning if you don't want that heavy feeling of indigestion or thirst after a meal.

Maintenance work on this hotel leaves a lot to be desired.Inconsistent hot water, dysfunctional toilets made the stay less than satisfactory . standard room is better equipped than the deluxe one which has a balcony
