E-Outfitting Vang Thong Hotel

Everything!! The whole Hotel was dirty and unhygienic, the pool (which was one of the main reasons for picking this hotel) was disgusting with green mould under water on all walls and the bottom. The cleaning staff were rude, obnoxious and utterly inefficient. Our rooms were disgusting with dirty walls and bathrooms that hadn't had a decent clean in ages. The one morning we went to breakfast at 9am all the food was stone cold and when asked to cook some fresh eggs for us it took 15 mins and some of the eggs were off. We would have left after the first night but for the cancellation fee of $600US. Also being 3klm from the town it cost 100000 kip ea way in taxis as soon as we walked out the doors.Altogether a terrible place to stay. The photos you display of the hotel were obviously shopped or taken many years ago as you will see in what we have included here.

Where do I start, when we arrived at the property at 7pm there was no one there, it was like an abandoned hotel. We rang the bell for reception a few times and waited but no answer so I had to go outside and try and find someone who works in the hotel. Eventually the receptionist was called but he didn’t speak English at all. He couldn’t communicate with us so he put us on FaceTime with someone to tell us we can just pay tomorrow since our receptionist didn’t know how to process a card transaction so we got our keys and went to the room meaning we got no information about when breakfast was or where the facilities were. The room was nice enough but the bathroom was an absolute disgrace, this is supposed to be a 4 star hotel and the bathroom was disgusting, mould growing in the shower and behind the toilet, toilet was leaking and it obviously hadn’t been cleaned. Shower doors didn’t close and the pressure was really bad. The toilet then broke and wouldn’t flush so we switched rooms which the lovely guy at reception arranged for us. The bathroom in our new room was slightly better but there was still dirt and a dead moth in the shower. The worse thing was that In our new room we heard rats or mice in the ceiling and didn’t sleep at all that night since they were running around In the walls making loads of noise, I felt sick to my stomach. The breakfast buffet was horrid being left out all morning and being stone cold by the time we got there at 9am (breakfast is till 10am as well) however the second day they cooked us some eggs which was nice but I was a bit put off eating any food knowing there was a rat infestation. Also the location is really bad, there’s nothing around and not even a path to get to the hotel so you feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere, we had to walk 30 minutes minimum to get to where the cafes and restaurants are.

Communication barrier as only 1 or 2 staff speak and understand English.
No iron/ironing board.

terrible location,breakfast was awful(Chinese buffet),swimming pool that you can’t lay next to because of no beds!!

location is a bit far from night markets

Pool looked very dirty , didn't seem to have a cleaning system , so much so we didn't go in ... And no loungers only chairs in the shade .
Location further out of town than we thought 🤔
