Was good on the whole

Location, cleanliness, very helpful staff

Cons:

We were put in a room for people with disabilities. I had not asked for it.The shower in the bathroom was terrible . Water was all over the floor and I almost slipped over it.The staff were kind enough to shift us to another room for the 2nd night.

It was very nice room and bed. Location is also good for arrival on ferry. We found parking for overnight just near the hotel. Overall, it was typical nice Sofitel experience

Excellent Location in Wellington
Pros:

We stayed four nights the week of Jan. 1 at the Sofitel in a Luxury Room, 1 King Bed on a higher hotel floor. We liked the ample size of the room, the extremely comfortable bed, the blackout curtains, the seating area. We included the breakfast option, which offered ample selections and enjoyed having access to the Club Sofitel, which had an afternoon tea as well as a happy hour. The location was perfect for exploring downtown, the Botanical garden, the historical cemetery, waterfront, and bird sanctuary. We walked everywhere and easily took rideshare a couple of times. The hotel has a good gym. We had a few glitches at the beginning with our key cards not working but the nice staff worked quickly to address. Highly recommend

It could have been excellent if they knew how to take care of their guests
