Friendly staff. Room had all we needed. Also had a spa bath! 2 (working) electric car chargers were also very useful. Breakfast was good for 2 days out of our 3 day stay.
Although, at first glance, our room looked spotlessly clean, and the sink, bath, shower and toilet WERE, the bathroom floor was dirty and there was quite a build up of dust in many places, especially the bathroom ceiling fan! The bed was a bit hard! The fairly modern TV had no internet access (for catch up channels etc) and such a poor aerial signal that no BBC channels could be found one day. We also had no wi-fi on the last day of our stay. Breakfast each day was good, apart from the last day when the choice was very limited if you didn’t eat meat! They seemed a bit short staffed that day?!
Comfy room, quiet location, decent breakfast.
Room was far too hot upon arrival. Heating was on full blast and the sun had been shining all day in a room in the roof.
All of it
Everything
Very nice location. The lodge was lovely had everything needed. Apart from the tv didn’t work properly. Had to get someone out and still only had a few channels
As advised the tv let it down
Bar and restaurant staff all helpful and professional, reception was extremely helpful, we arrived a bit early and were having a drink in the bar and she heard the wife saying we had a booking but were early arriving. Receptionist asked what the name was and gave me the room keys straight away. We ate in the restaurant food was unbelievable quality good portions and very reasonably priced, I've eaten in chain pubs where the food is more expensive and far worse quality and quantity 😀
We had booked the executive double which was excellently appointed and very comfortable.
The only bug I found was that they are having some building work done and for some reason the builders feel that it's the
The only issue I had was that the hotel is having some building work done for enhancing the wedding package, and the builders feel that it's their right to park their vans in the 2 disabled bays available that are clearly marked and signed disabled parking only.
Lovely staff and rooms. Spacious and generally comfortable. Breakfast was nice. Lively garden. Great bathroom and very large bath. White company products. Nice tea coffee and biscuits in room. Great access from A1
Room 14 was above bottle bin so we heard bottles being emptied several times. Room was hit but they did provide a fan which was helpful. Taps made a loud noise when used which might have disturbed others
Checked in when there was a wedding, very loud music was playing until nearly midnight, it seemed the hotel staff didn’t care about other guests for a quiet night. The room was very hot and the radiator could not be adjusted, and the room was not very clean.
Great wedding setup, lovely picturesque setting
Woken by builders on both days right outside the window, plus barrel deliveries. Impossible to sleep through, the noise was unbelievable and there was no warning. Drunk people trying to get in our room at 1am because they couldn't remember their door number, the whole sleeping thing was just not possible.
The staff were helpful and polite, and the room was clean and warm and beautifully decorated .
There were some lovely biscuits, teas, and coffee
