Beautiful character property, food was fabulous and staff were all so friendly and supportive.
It was quite warm during the night, but the room had a fan which made it bearable

Stayed in studio cottage. Beautiful deco, fab hot tub.
Would have liked hot tub to be more private.

Stairs were hard to get up to on top floor.my daughter advised them she was bringing a baby but they never mentioned there were no lifts to her floor so I had to swap rooms with her as I was booked in to floor below.room was too small to fit a travelcot in in anyhow so if I hadn't of swapped rooms it wouldn't of fit in
Breakfast room floor was filthy.the muck was just swept to the side of the stairs

The rooms on the top floor were a little difficult to access (narrow stairway etc)
Beautiful hotel in such a convenient location close to A1 if travelling up and down the country. Quiet and stylish. Our room had great quality fittings, loved the lighting and comfy bed. Ate at the restaurant in the evening, lots of choice and food was fresh and delicious.
Cooked food at breakfast could have been better (eggs/ mushrooms were not good)

We had bed and breakfast. The hotel is well located, clean, quiet and the staff were very welcoming. Very comfortable - had everything we needed. Will definitely go back next time we visit Durham - a great little find.
Location and communal areas were very good, the food was excellent very tight bathroom

A very well presented complex. The double room was spacious, the bathroom was recently renovated.
We enjoyed the coffee bar in the room which was restocked every day when the room was cleaned.
The restaurant was also very pleasant with a rich menu.
We appreciated the free parking on site.
Meals out standing portion control omg HUGE ! no starter needed ! Staff cant do enough for you and what they do do they do with a smile excellent service
needs a bit of tlc decor / blinds garden beautiful maybe sweep and weed place just felt a bit tired
Beautiful grounds, amazing accommodation , however , we left an item of clothing in the wardrobe . We called and asked if it was there , advised they were busy with a wedding but would speak with house keeping & lost property and call us back , they didn’t ! So we rang again following day , promised a return call , never happened . Today day 3 , called a little later in the day, they would need to check and call us back . I’m not feeling optimistic . Very poor customer service , which has put a black mark on the overall stay
