.VERY disappointing.this time, Hoping for improvement next visit
The lack of a lift is not at all good
Food, breakfast and the chalet where great. Staff where helpful and friendly.
Chalet next door had 2 howling crying high pitched screaming dogs left in, it was 21 degrees outside (red hot inside shalets) they could be heard from all 4 chalet and the car park this was constant and went on for over an hour and a half, I paid £160 to stay in the chalet for the night so don't see why I should have to listen to howling crying dogs, so I reported it to reception the receptionist managed to get hold of the occupants they came walked the dogs and put them back in the chalet and headed back to the pub. We then heard the dogs howling crying in distress on the morning again occupant's of the chalet were inside the main hotel. I believe the occupants of the chalet where part of a large group for a wedding and felt it was not acceptable to leave the dogs in the chalet in hot conditions, spoiling peoples stay having to hear the dogs.
The upgraded to a lodge which was amazing
Lovely converted old mansion in easy reach of both Durham City Centre and the A1M
Wonderful staff - went out if their ways to accommodate our needs.
Lovely toiletries (and hotel reception smells amazing)
Nice breakfast, cooked to order so lovely and hot. Continental breakfast also lovely and fresh.
Comfortable room, well equipped
Handy location
Warm room (but fan provided)
Noise from guests in cottage hot tub did carry up (fan helped drown out noise but also meant window had to stay close) and general hotel door slamming was noticeable more than in other places we've stayed.
Room would benefit from a full length mirror and more shelving/storage in bathroom as there was nowhere to put toiletries.
Everything was fab!! No complaints from me 👍👍
We stayed one night to attend a banquet. The hotel was lovely, and our room was comfortable. The food was really good, and we had a brilliant evening. Thanks to the Durham ladies , who organised the event, and hopefully, we will be there again soon. Michael and Linda.
