Rustic gem in Cerro Punta. If you want to have a true small town experience yet have all the comforts, this is the place. The restaurant and the attached common guest space is the highlight. The staff is super friendly and make you truly feel at home.

A wonderful hotel in a stunningly beautiful place with great staff and delicious food.
Pros:

The location is amazing, a stunningly beautiful village in the mountains, close to the forest and great hiking trails. The staff were super friendly and couldn't have done more for us. The food was fantastic too... every day there was fresh fruit for breakfast and a salad bar stocked mainly with produce from the hotel's garden. All the food was freshly prepared, and delicious. At the weekend there was a buffet breakfast and during the week it was a la carte. We especially liked the pancakes for breakfast, the soups, home made bread, pizzas and pastas, and the wine selection. Our room was very comfortable, and there were seats on the balcony looking out past the hummingbird feeders (with plentiful birds at all times) to the garden. All in all it was a super relaxing stay, in a beautiful location surrounded by friendly staff and great food.

When I arrived to check in, I could not find anyone. Fortunately, a dog came and found me and me and led me to someone who checked me in. I reserved a room with a fireplace but was told that if I wanted a fireplace, I would have to pay extra. Room was very cramped and always cold. Water eventually ran hot but in a limited supply. Dining room options were limited but the food was good. Loved the balcony porch overlooking the garden. Very friendly dogs

The food, the staff and the location. The hotel has board games, ping pong tables and a library that I really enjoyed.

Cons:

Food safety is not good. There’s a lot of flies inside the restaurant and near the salad bar. The hotel have not taken any countermeasures to control that (like UV lamps to kill flies). The room needs an upgrade. Our mattress was hard and the sheets had a little of dust.

Relajante en todos los sentidos.
Pros:

Los quetzales siempre será muy recomendado de mi parte, sobre todo para las personas que buscan desconectarse de todo el bullicio y estrés de la ciudad. El clima lo máximo, el servicio del personal excelente, la habitación cómoda, la verdad 1000% recomendados.

The restaurant was ok, breakfast better than dinner.

Cons:

Spa was a catastrophy. We wanted to use the sauna, nobody took care of it, they didn´t seem to have any experience how to get it hot. We finally gave up on it.

If you look for cool weather in Panama!
Pros:

We were there just one night. Got there past 8 pm, hungry and the restaurant was already closed, didn’t get much help from the staff. It took them half an hour to charge my credit card for the cost of the room and we had to drive 20 minutes, back to the city, to find a place to eat. Back at the room it was cozy with a fire place. It was really cold, loved it. We had a great sleep. In the morning, I was amazed by the place, the gardens, the mountains and town, the breakfast, the coffee, the main building is awesome. We tried to stay one more night, but staff couldn’t find a way. Plenty of things to do at Cerro Punta and around Tierras Altas, need to go there again for a longer stay. Hopefully next time they will have better service.

It is a best value stay, mointain type stay.
Pros:

The location was awesome, excellent staff and very pleasant play room

Cons:

The room smell like dust and didn’t had clean air, the beds were not as confortable as show in social media and the comparison of social media videos and pictures are the same as the reality once your arrive.

A great stay at a beautiful ecolodge tucked into the mountains with all the wildlife you could want!
Pros:

We loved the location and the property. It was so beautiful, and tucked away in this small town in the mountains. There were tons of birds around, and the hiking and birdwatching tours were amazing! The staff were also pretty helpful, though could be hard to find at some times because we were there during a slow time.

Cons:

The food at the property was ok, pretty much average Panamanian food on the days that we were there, and we were there during a slow time so the restaurant wasn't consistently open. Otherwise, it was great!
