Staff was lovely. Property was nice and clean, but a little hard to find. No signage.
Unfortunately, our trip to Panama City had to be postponed due to the protests that erupted against the First Quantum mining contract. The main roads were blocked for hours, and we were caught in traffic several times. As a result, our meetings in Panama City had to be postponed. I kept the property in the loop about the situation.
When things finally returned to normal, I tried to book the same room at the same price for a later date. While I understand their policy of not refunding for no-shows, I was not asking for a refund; I just wanted to book the same room at the same price for a later date. It left me feeling disappointed and frustrated.
Under the circumstances, I believe that the property should have been more flexible and accommodating. After all, I was not asking for a refund, and I wanted to rebook the same room at the same price at a later date. Unfortunately, their lack of understanding and empathy has left me with an unpleasant experience. I cannot recommend this property based on their inflexible approach.
Clean place and a friendly staff. The place is nice and quiet. It's a good value.
The neighborhood isn't great, but you can walk to the immigration building.

The breakfast was nice and freshly prepared for us. We were even given a lunch bag when we had to leave early for a day trip to the carribean. The service of the staff was outstanding.
It is a little bit off so you have to get an Uber (or InDrive) but the are super cheap. The area is not the safest but inside the hostal the atmosphere is very good and makes you feel welcome.
The staff was well focused on my needs during my stay, and very pleasant to associate with. Grounds are well kept. The B&B is located well for shopping and engagement with the more localized community, which is important to me. I felt safe and comfortable. I value Sofia's as a good alternative to the more isolated city hotels. Will definitely return here again when occasions arrive to visit Panama City.

I was a little surprised to learn that breakfast was not included. When I booked it, I thought it was. But that was not a problem.
We booked Sofias B&B as our flight arrived late and so wanted a place close to the airport. Sofias B&B is less than 20 mins drive. Location is good less than 10 minutes walk to supermarket, shops, ATM and shopping Mall.
Very secure property behind electronic gates. Neighbourhood is fine - by a main road but not noisy.
Room is very large, contains TV bathroom with shower, wardrobe & chest of drawers. Very good size for a B&B. Very clean. They very kindly kept our luggage secure whilst we went off for 4 days to Bocas Del Toro.
We do not speak Spanish and unfortunately the young lad on reception does not speak English however we got over this using Google Translate.
We stayed twice - on the way out and on our way back to airport.
Breakfast is a bit basic but is edible so not a major issue. For the price we paid I feel it is about right.
