I crashed here one night in September-2023 as my friend's couch was not working for me. The room is a bit small, but I slept like the dead on the soft mattress. It was right next to the train station, art museum and shopping area so it was easy to be a tourist from there. I very much appreciated that there was a gay bar across the street. Would absolutely recommend to the fairly budget traveler who's ok with a smaller room.
We stayed with our 3yo for 2 nights. Location of the hotel is perfect - short stroll from HBF if you’re arriving with the IC. More importantly there’s a lot to do and see around with the child. Children museum is just next door, nature history museum is 5 min and the Zoo 10 min walk.
Room was ready for us already around 14:00 and we go the large room 630. The lobby of the hotel is new and modern, we had drinks in the evening there. Rooms however are a bit older and soon will need refurbishment- however in our opinion price is also accordingly adjusted.
ibis Leipzig City is located close to the main railway station, and to the old city centre.
I had a very good room, with a comfortable bed and very good insulation from outside noise.
The bathroom was also good, although smallish.
Breakfast was good, with a few choices available. Free wi-fi was sometime slow.
Staff were efficient and friendly.
Got to the hotel early, couldn't check in but could leave our bags in a private locker. Very good location near the train station. Better room standard than many Ibis hotels we have stayed at in England, especially the bathroom. Many charging options for mobile phones in the room. Ibis does the job.
We just had the one night in this hotel, but found it exceeded our expectations. Parking below the hotel was easy. Room was adequate. Hotel was in a great location, and breakfast the next morning was excellent. Exceptional value for money and would definitely return.
This is now my hotel of choice in Leipzig
It is between the Hbf and Markt and convenient for both
The rooms are a good quality with comfortable beds
Good sized reception area where you can chill out over a drink
Stayed one night on the way to Italy. Excellent location in the middle of the city with secure parking under the hotel. the Staff was helpful and we had a good nights sleep and a nice breakfast before we continued on the autobahn.
Very polite staff, good breakfast, cleanliness, great location just a few steps from the old market and the main train station. However the most important thing is that the staff take all the necessary precautions to minimise the risk of covid infection.
The room was small but came with TV, hairdryer, desk, little sofa and the bathroom was nice with a good shower. Great location with underground carpark named Q-Park Am Museumswinkel (Euro 10.00 for 24hrs) that doesn’t belong to the hotel but has direct access to it. The City Centre with the Marktplatz & Nikolaikirche and much more is within walking distance. Many restaurants nearby for example in the Klostergasse and Barfussgässchen. Shopping Centre opposite of the hotel.
- some limitations due to corona, breakfast in groups which need to be registered the evening before, that's why I walked to a bakery nearby, good morning walk :-)
- Staff friendly, following the health rules as per government rule;
- parking 10 Euro in basement
- the top coat rack in the room was still dusty from corona, that's the only I could complain, the other parts of the room and bathroom have been clean, well done
- perfect location, near the main railway station, city center, ... .
I had a great stay at Ibis Leipzig City. The hotel is located in central Leipzig, just a 5-minute walk from the main train station, and very near to all attractions in the old city. Nearby there are grocery stores, restaurants, transportation options, banks, and all other conveniences. My room on the 4th floor was clean and stylish. The soundproof windows offered a quiet night's rest. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was large and the water pressure in the large shower was excellent. I did not try the hotel breakfast. The staff is helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay here again.
Excellent first visit to Leipzig. Hotel was great value for money. Helpful, friendly and welcoming staff, excellent accommodation, pleasant bar area and really well located within the old town / close to the Hbf.
The Ibis Leipzig is an ok hotel which is in a great central location. Overall there are few complaints but the service in the reception/bar is atrocious. Do they know what customer service is? Leipzig is a lovely city with a very friendly locals, but the city is let down by the attitude of the staff at this hotel. Avoid.
Above all, the hotel has an excellent location: walking distance to the Hbf., the Gewandhaus, and the Markt. It's pretty much next door to the Museum der bildenen Kuenste Leipzig (MdbKL), which has a wonderful collection. My single room on the top floor was thoughtfully laid out, bright, and quiet. I didn't eat breakfast at the hotel because there were so many (cheaper) options nearby. Ibis Leipzig City completely satisfied my needs during my two-night visit, and I recommend it warmly to travelers on a budget.
It is in a good location, close to the train station, sights and subway system. No real front desk, so it felt cheap. Room was decent size, small bathroom and shower, but adequate. Breakfast was average. This was a completely acceptable discount hotel. No frills, I would stay there again if only for a day or two.
Location cannot be bettered. Short walk to everything.
This is a typical IBIS, Clean and functional, has all thats required. Pleasant staff and even though our room was to the front, we had a peaceful nights sleep.
Happy to recommend.
We stayed in this hotel for three nights in early September. It is a modern hotel over six storeys and has 125 bedrooms. It has disabled access but we cannot determine how many other facilities. There is payable car parking below the hotel.
It is a ten minute walk with luggage from the railway station and a five minute walk into the shopping area of the city. Another five minute walk takes you to the historic centre.
This is a new generation ibis with - in our estimation - slightly larger rooms than normal. As is usual with ibis there is only a shower and no bath. The rooms were in good order, well-maintained and we had no problems with housekeeping. There was little cross-room noise but some noise from the corridor. We were on the rear of the hotel and on a high floor but we still looked onto the side wall of the museum. We also found that there was no direct sunlight into the room at any time. Wifi was acceptable, air conditioning was switched off when we were there.
Staff were professional, very efficient and did everything we asked of them.
Public areas on the ground floor have two soft seating areas and two public PCs. There is a bar and an adjacent breakfast room where light meals are served all day. Breakfast was plentiful and of high quality, but perhaps not as comprehensive as we have experienced at other ibis in Germany. There were hot items (eggs - scrambled and boiled - and bacon) but toast was not available. There were no pastries or cake!! The snack menu was limited to Panini, one salad and desert, but there are plenty of restaurants nearby (including breakfast places open at 06:30) if needs be.
This hotel represents excellent value for money and is thoroughly recommended.
We stayed for one night. Very friendly and helpful staff welcomed us. The room was clean and quiet and quite spacious. It's not far to the main station as well as to Markt station of the local trains.
Breakfast the usual Ibis breakfast.
The Hotel is nice and clean, the staff are very nice and helpful.
Everything is near you and the center also is very close to the Hotel and there are many restaurants near the area , so you don’t need to go outside the Center.
