The best part of it was the price
Pros:

it is easy to get to and it has free parking. breakfast is nice

Cons:

it's getting a little dreary looking. Upgrades would be nice. My room was on the side of the highway and I hardly got any sleep at all because it was so noisy with all the motorcycles and trucks and car racing going on.

Always a great stay at The English Inn of Charlottesville!
Pros:

Have stayed at The English Inn of Charlottesville many times. It is our preferred place to stay when in Charlottesville. There is so much to like about it - the location, free parking, the rooms and cleanliness, the friendly staff, and the value. And the included breakfast is sensational - so much variety is offered, especially the hot food.

Cons:

Can't think of anything to make it better! It's always a great stay.

Safety hazard
Pros:

The breakfast buffet was excellent. Staff at the buffet were very friendly and courteous.

Cons:

Serious safety concern in the pool area. The lack of slip-resistant flooring presents a significant hazard. Id be concerned if you are pregnant, an elder or have littles when staying here and planning to use this pool. Be very very careful. Upon check-in, the front desk staff was not particularly welcoming. Our bathroom contained a used bar of soap in the tub. There were no basic courtesy items such as toothpaste or toothbrushes available. Additionally, the in-room coffee maker splattered hot water unexpectedly, nearly burning us. But the my biggest dislike and why I wont return is the painted flooring in the pool which caused my loved one to fall hard.

Clean and Quiet But Unfriendly :(
Pros:

It was quiet and clean. Bed was comfortable. Good breakfast selection.

Cons:

Staff was not friendly. When we checked in the lady barely spoke and seemed like we were bothering her. When I went to check out a different lady was at the desk, she never said a word to us. She pointed to a basket to put our room keys in, didn’t say thank you or ask how our stay was or anything. I was surprised at the unfriendliness since other places we’ve stayed in Charlottesville has been super nice.

OK but disappointing.
Pros:

Breakfast and location were good.

Cons:

When checking in the young lady at the front seemed like we were bothering upon arrival around 6pm. We stayed for two nights, there was no stay over service that tidied up our room or bathroom. The website said 'daily housekeeping so I did not ask for stay over service as I did think that was necessary. It is time to go back to cleaning up or tidying up room every day regardless if it is a stay over or new arrival. Covid is over, it is time to get back to really good customer service and daily cleaning.
