Pros:

Recently decorated. Very clean, small but interesting hotel. Little restaurant. Very Spanish food. Good breakfast.

Cons:

Small rooms are very small. Rooms on the top floor are large. Hotel is painted with dark colours so difficult to see but maybe good when bright outside in the summer. I was there in spring.
Ask for assistance to your taxi if you leave during the dark. This is a bit of an unsafe area.

Pros:

A truly wonderful hotel, with impeccable attention to detail, lovely staff, amazing food (the breakfast is a must!) and an all around very nice, relaxed atmosphere.

Everything about our New Year’s Eve stay at the Whitmore Hotel was truly wonderful. From the moment we arrived, it was clear how thoughtful and curated every detail was.

Each day, we returned to the room to find little candies and treats waiting for us — such a small but meaningful touch. Housekeeping was impeccable, with beautifully done turndowns that made the room feel fresh, calm, and cared for every single evening.

Matteo and others at the front desk were absolutely wonderful — warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The restaurant and bar staff were equally accommodating, making every experience feel easy and relaxed.

Breakfast each morning was a true highlight. Fresh, beautifully cut fruit, excellent coffees and teas, and bread baskets that were absolutely to die for. Fernando greeted us every morning with the biggest smile and took such wonderful care of us — he was a joy each day and made breakfast feel genuinely special.

The ambiance throughout the hotel was stunning. The fireplace, the artistic and beautifully curated floral designs from the Christmas season, and the overall interior design were a dream. I wanted to photograph everything — from the rich red velvet curtains to the thoughtfully layered décor throughout the space.

One of the most special moments was walking up to the rooftop terrace and overlooking the city of Barcelona. There was ample seating, incredibly comfortable, and one afternoon I even laid out in the sun and took the most peaceful little nap. It felt like a true escape above the city.

My friends and I had an incredible time. The entire staff was so friendly, caring, and attentive — always there without ever being intrusive. They even arranged our taxi to the airport, which picked us up right out front and made our departure seamless.

It was truly all the little special touches that made this one of my favorite places I’ve ever stayed. A beautiful, memorable experience from start to finish. I can’t wait to return.
