The room was clean, well-appointed and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would consider staying again when in Newport
The room was lovely ,large like i am used to.
Sadly i had hardly any sleep due to a huge very loud argument that went on endlessly right outside of the hotel between about three young males. Not sure if they were staying at Charters or not but they were right outside .I managed to get to sleep at about 4am.
I normally have no complaints at all wherever i stay and this was unfortunate. I am sure that other hotel residents must of been interrupted by this situation too.
The location is perfect, just in the city centre.
Both the room and the bathroom are big and nicely decorated.
The bed was uncomfortable, with a very soft mattress.
The bath tub was too high, not easy to get in.
Our room had a portable A/C, but no good natural ventilation as the window could not be properly opened.
Only winter duvets were available even if we stayed here in August.

Thank god for the air con. It was fine. Saw nobody. All boxes for keys. Room was a bit dusty but all was fine and fab new en-suite. Thai restaurant is a must
An excellent location overlooking St Thomas Minster with a pub over the road and easy walking access to the bus station and the town centre. We were met by friendly staff to help us check in. A good breakfast was available at The Wheatsheaf over the road, with gluten free options available. There was also a discount at the Thai Restaurant below the rooms - again with gluten free options. the room was a good size, well equipped and comfortable.
There were a lot of noisy seagulls in the square outside, even at night, and some noise at closing time from people passing through. Given the location this was not a surprise.
Room is large and comfort. Great taste of vintage furniture, the air-conditioning does its good job in this hot summer.
Breakfast is delicious and sufficient amount. Excellent views from the room with lots of sunlight.
More perfect if there is lift to top floor.
The auto-closer hinge of the main entrance door at ground floor dipped down and blocks the door from closing. It needs fix to hold its position.
