Great Hotel
Pros:

We stayed here as a couple in mid August. The room was comfortable, the breakfasts were excellent and there was ample parking.

The hotel is perhaps half a mile from the town and beaches which are very scenic - especially around the harbour. The town caters exclusively for the Spanish and is on the coastal Camino route - there are no Brits here & most restaurants do not even open until 8pm. It is authentic Spain, the people are great and even with only a smattering of Spanish you will be fine.

A special mention to the owner's daughter who is about 12 and acts as interpreter - her grasp of English was a Godsend.

A GOOD FAMILY RUN BUDGET HOTEL
Pros:

A family-run budget hotel that delivers real value and a warm welcome. It is positioned about 800 metres from the small town of Tapia de Casariego and conveniently placed a short drive from the A8. (We drove past it in error on arrival: look out for a building that stands alone on the southerly side of the road into town). Google translator is an excellent means for communicating if their young daughter is not there to translate – or your Spanish is much better than ours! Our room was spotlessly clean and amply sized and furnished. The bathroom was modern and functional. We had booked dinner in advance and delays to our arrival was not a problem: the dinner most welcome and filling. The hotel is close to a chicken farm and cockerels provided us with some early morning calls. All round, a good choice.
