The whole property is insanely beautiful set upon the tree tops! Absolutely beautiful! Great access the little Adam’s peak, 9arch bridge, zip line and more. The staff were all incredibly attentive and the spa treatment was also amazing.
Luxury and relaxing in nature
Staff was amazing couldn’t do enough for you
My wife and I loved our stay here and highly recommend. Beautiful villas, excellent staff and great food. Very welcoming.
A luxury and exclusive resort where we and our friends enjoyed a wonderful stay. Our rooms were extremely spacious and well appointed with beautiful scenic views from the balconies. The service from all the staff was very efficient yet friendly and the amenities were of a high standard. As reviewed separately the restaurant was first class. We would thoroughly recommend 98 Acres as the place to stay in the Ella area.
Beautiful luxury stay in Ella, all the staff were incredible, the outlook and the room absolutely stunning. We also had a spa treatment that was great value
I do think it is a little overpriced particularly what we paid, we saw rooms for 40% of the price available closer to the time vs what we booked but could be due to current tourism squeeze. I was also followed up for reviews many many times from many different staff
An amazIng location and wonderful staff.
We had already enjoyed the hospitality of 2 fantastic hotels and 98 Acres did not disappoint. We were greeted warmly and had a few minutes to take in the stunning views over the tea plantation and surrounding hills. The views are sensational and unforgettable. Our room was some distance from the facilities, but this was not an issue with a buggy service available at short notice. The room, with its vaulted ceiling was very spacious, with a massive bed, superb shower and balcony to enjoy the views. My wife and I enjoyed the spa which we thought was very good value.
Highly Overrated property, staff very bad, location is off, food is zero
They charged us for extra kid but didn't even provide extra bedding
During check out, they called continuously and knocked every 2 minutes asking to leave
Very unprofessional
There were lizards roaming in bathroom
In the morning breakfast, food options were very limited, only fruits and breads to be precise
No valet service
Room ambience doesn't match the price
Overall very bad experience
Check-in was smooth and efficient after a 5 hour drive from Panama on the East Coast.
We stayed 2 nights in Villa 227, a Premium Deluxe Signature villa, 8 minute walk from the reception, 10 minutes from the restaurant and pool deck, 2 minutes from the spa.
The balcony feautured a hanging bed lounger, and views across the tea plantation back to the main buildings.
The room was comfortable and well-equipped, lacking only AC, although the ceiling fans were effective and quiet. WiFi was available.
After 6 nights camping at Gal Oya and Kumana National Park, the laundry service was much needed and very efficient and good value for money. We did not have time to use the 98 Spa this time, but the treatment menu looked good.
On our first night we dined in, enjoying the wide ranging cuisine and well thought out bar menu.
Breakfast, a mix of buffet for fruit, cereals, pastries and delicatessen fare and a la carte for main dishes was good in terms of quantity and quality, and service was very friendly, but there seemed to be little coordination between front of house and the kitchen. This meant that dishes arrived randomly, and sometimes quite slowly, making for a drawn out affair. A little management required.
The resort is a little hilly and a buggy service is offered, albeit with delays possible at busy times so book well in advance if in a hurry.
Town and attractions like Llittle Adam's Peak and the 9 Arches railway bridge are easily accessible, count on a LKR1,000 fare for a tuktuk down to the main road.
The resort is surrounded by a working tea plantation, and the pluckers and other workers are often in evidence, and willing to share a photograph. Please remember that pluckers typically earn just LKR2,000 (US$7/GBP5) a day, so offer them a little gift of thanks if you do share a pic.

Amazing resort to stay at, staff very friendly, close to nine arch bridge and Ella.
We had the most magical stay at 98 Acres Resort & Spa, where we got engaged! From the moment we checked in, the blessing was such a special touch that made our arrival unforgettable. Sudarshan went above and beyond with his attentive service, making everything seamless and personal. We also loved the yoga session on the helicopter pad — such a unique and serene experience. The entire resort is stunning, blending luxury with the natural beauty of the surroundings. If you’re looking for a truly memorable getaway, whether for romance or relaxation, 98 Acres is simply perfect. We can’t wait to return!
This is a beautiful hotel set on the hill outside of Ella . The hotel is very much is sat on a hill and therefore you need to be able to walk up the steps but there is however a useful buggy service that will come and collect you which is really helpful. Our room was beautiful overlooking the Adams peak and tea plantation . The restaurant has a very international cuisine.
The swimming pool area was very nice, but the pool was cool.
I was not actually impressed with the town of Ella itself. I was very glad that we had chosen a hotel that was outside of the town so that we could relax. You can get a tuk tuk very easily from the hotel into the centre.
We used the spa and had very good massages which I would recommend. We also used the laundry service and that was very efficient and very reasonably priced.
The welcome at the hotel was nice and we were given a blessing when we checked out which was very thoughtful
Just wanted to express our genuine thanks for such an incredible stay in your hotel in March. It truly was an experience of a lifetime and we wanted to express how grateful we are to the wonderful staff - our every need was catered for. The views from our room were just amazing. We will be recommending your property to as many people as we can.
Thank you again

Absolutely it was an unforgettable stay at 98acres with wonderful memories.
What an amazing resort. We received 6 star service from all the staff, the food was amazing, the rooms spectacular and the location was perfect to explore Ella town, 9 arches bridge and Little Adams Peak. Thank you to all the staff for all the little extra touches like the blessings and for making our stay very memorable.
