Insects in the washroom
Our stay at 98 Acres in Ella was a wonderful experience. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful, with breathtaking views, a thoughtfully designed atmosphere, and a level of attention to detail that makes the entire stay feel very special. The staff were exceptional throughout, warm, welcoming, and always eager to help, which truly added to the experience.
The breakfast setup was also impressive, with a large variety of options and a beautifully presented selection. However, we did have one unfortunate experience with the vegetable burrito we ordered, as the filling appeared to have spoiled and was slimy inside, suggesting that it was not fresh. Given the otherwise excellent standard of the resort, we feel this is an area that would benefit from greater attention and quality control.
Overall, 98 Acres is a stunning resort with incredible views and genuinely wonderful staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and with more careful attention to food freshness, the experience would have been truly flawless.
Best hotel in the Ella area. Stunning views, luxurious suites, amazing service and welcome ceremony. A special thanks to the manager who is attentive to every details. Thank you very much for making my birthday so special . A must for everyone wanting to experience the extraordinary 💗
I stayed at 98 Acres with my parents and it was honestly just beautiful from start to finish.
The property itself is stunning - every view feels like a postcard and you can tell so much thought has gone into every detail. The staff were incredibly attentive without ever feeling intrusive, just genuinely warm and helpful throughout our stay.
Little touches really stood out: the snacks left in the room, the turndown service in the evenings, everything just felt considered and well done. The spa was a real highlight too - I had one of the best massages I’ve ever had there.
Breakfast was also a dream, especially the porridge (simple but honestly so good).
Overall, everything was just perfect. One of those places you leave already wanting to come back to. Easily a 10/10 experience.
Beautiful view. Big room. Good location. Decent breakfast. I had a great massage (Shanthi).
If you’ve seen the movie Blended, this was it. Suppper touristic and performative. It felt like too much. It was a bit ridiculous. The food they serve at the restaurant is tiny for an expensive price.
The bathroom isn’t enclosed so you can hear everything from the bedroom. The rooms are poorly made, they have left a big space which is glassed and all the birds just go and chill on it… but it’s the bedroom so you get disturbed by them all the time. The neighbouring rooms were under construction. We should have gotten a discount for that reason only. I don’t go on holidays to be bothered by construction site, especially for that price. The staff is very nice but also too performative.
We had an excellent stay at 98 Acres. The hotel, surroundings, food, and service were outstanding. A special thank you to Kusal, Tharindu, and Lahiru for their warm hospitality, professionalism, and exceptional care throughout our stay. They made our experience truly memorable. Highly recommended!
Very good service and amazing food. Mr Sudarshan, Indica and Lahiru was very attentive and nice
Thank you for such an amazing experience. The welcome from reception, to interactions with the manager to the restaurant staff especially Sudarshan. You all made our stay unforgettable. The food was amazing. The rooms are big, neat and comfortable.
We stayed in 98 acres as part of our honeymoon and it was a real highlight. The room was exceptionally comfortable with a massive bed and one of the best showers I've ever used. We could have spent hours and hours on the balcony looking down the valley at the stunning view! All of the staff were lovely and so willing to help make our time special. We were even given a traditional honeymoon blessing! One of the highlights was the tea trail with Gayasha. We got to walk through the tea fields and saw how the locals collect toddy from the palms. We even got to taste some! Overall, it was a wonderful stay and we wished we could have stayed longer.
Nice views
We were roomed beside a building site, some staff couldn't speak English
נוף מהמם, שירות מעולה
We initially booked a hotel that was much harder to get to than advertised, so we decided to move. We were very fortunate that 98 Acres could take us at such short notice. They treated us like premium guests, Tharaka welcomed us and took us to our room, he was extremely welcoming and explained everything the hotel resort has to offer. It is a beautiful place, walking distance to Ella (although maybe a bit far, but short tuk tuk). Also short walk to Ravana Pool Club which is a fun place! They offer lots of activities, hike Little Adam’s Peak for sunrise, bird wildlife stroll etc.
Room was lovely, pool and resort just beautiful.
There was some confusion in the spa. I think there are 2 companies there, their own spa and Balinese Spa. We used Balinese Spa because they made it easier to understand what was available etc. Lovely couples massage.
Amazing location, great staff, beautiful rooms.

We were in the Kitul tour with gaya the nature guy, it was amazing, recommend everyone taking this tour for an amazing experience
I did the kitul tour with my family. It was an incredible experience. The tour guide is 10 out of 10. He explained everything perfectly and we experience the local culture in Sri Lanka. I recommended for everyone who coming to do this tour
This property has amazing views of the mountains and is very spread out and comfortable. The rooms are huge and have a lovely balcony to watch sunrise/sunset. The staff are very attentive and the hotel restaurant and breakfast is excellent. Lovely pool too.
Highly recommend. The hotel offers an early morning walk up Little Adam’s Peak at sunrise. It was spectacular.
