Definitely will book again when I’m coming to visit
I liked that the hotel was clean and smelled nice. It seemed like a safe location. Good parking!
The pool seemed nasty. The chlorine was very strong. When looking in the pool it was very cloudy with bubbles. This made me not want to swim in it, which I didn’t. Forwards the end of the night, staff stated that they ran out of towels and gave us hand towels to dry off with.

My experience wasn’t a positive one. Online booked my room. Turns out there are two hotels with different names one holiday inn express and one holiday inn. I had been staying at the holiday inn up the road. I booked my room last min because I was on business and wasn’t sure I was going to be staying. It was booked at the wrong location. As I needed the other location so I could park my equipment for the night. I called and wanted to cancel when I went to the check in it was wrong hotel. I called the hotel explained the situation and was told that I would be charged any way. I asked if it could be transferred to this hotel they said no different ownership. So nothing I could do but pay for a room where I had actually been staying. So after paid for my second room. I called IHG customer service to see if there was anything they could do. They said they would check into it and I would get a email back within 48 hrs. I didn’t get a email and the charge was still on my card. I have no problem paying a cancellation fee as it was a mistake on my part. But to charge me full price for a room I never stepped foot in. That they didn’t have to clean again. And could still be rented out to somebody else. Just doesn’t sit right with me. I own a business so I know you need to make money. But if I charged every customer a fee for cancellation I’d be out of business. So moral of the story I guess is pay attention to whether your booking holiday inn or holiday inn express. They have no qualms about you paying a full room price if you make a mistake. This was Holidany inn Express Livonia 27451 Schoolcraft rd 48150.
parking was easy.
the locks did not work on the doors. Everytime we got to the hotel someone had to let us in our room. They didn't even verify our names a couple times. Major safety concern. Tried to get reimbursed via the hotel and they said it had to be through booking.com and they never replied.

The staff was very supportive and acommendating
The breakfast closed down 15 to 20 minites before posted time to close which was 10:30. I would think that closing would be after the the posted time on all information in the room.
The staff were very professional, kind, hard working and patient.
The hotel’s key system was not working and so they were not able to give us keys to our room at any point during our stay. The staff had to key us in each time we returned. The staff did not confirm our IDs indicated we were the people who booked it when they keyed us in. Also the air conditioning was very noisy during the night.

We reserved this hotel for 6 nights. Unfortunately, a severe storm hit the area, leaving the hotel without power and operating on a generator for the remainder of my stay (approximately 4 days without hotel services). We only utilized the complimentary breakfast once due to the storm (the regular hotel breakfast was not available due to the power outage). I'll admit that the breakfast was satisfactory when it was available. Half of the amenities were not available due to the outage. Couldn't receive clean towels or linens, although the desk lady (unknown name) did supply me with what she had (one towel and two bath cloths for two guests). Couldn't use the pool, exercise room, or the ice machine. The lobby smelled of marijuana most of the time, and the hotel is so close to the highway you could hear vehicles constantly at night...even over the loud air conditioning unit in the room. The room also had a humid or moist feeling to it for some reason. The staff was friendly enough, except for one employee named Johnny (the cook). I'm not sure how he has been allowed to keep his job, but his terrible attitude and smart mouth will eventually lead to problems with other patrons of the hotel. Dealing with him was the final straw to an already bad situation, and we decided not to stay on the last night. Even though I was a paying customer, I did not feel comfortable knowing that someone like him was an employee there.

The property is new and the rooms are spacious and well-appointed.
The hotel attracts a special kind of clientele. Expect lots of stomping up and down hallways starting at 7am and wet elevators from people who have used the pool and haven't fully dried off. The man in charge of the breakfast was helpful but snarky. For the price, I would not stay here again.

We were very pleased with our stay. The room was immaculate and the staff were friendly and helpful. The AGM Amy was outstanding. The breakfast was tasty and Johnnie kept all the breakfast items refilled and the area clean. This is an outstanding
