Before you judge the accommodations, keep in mind this historic hotel was built as a family home/farm in the 1800's. If you are looking for luxury accommodations then this is not for you, and if the room is the most important thing then you are truly missing the point of what this area has to offer. The rooms face the most beautiful lake and in the morning a homemade breakfast with your coffee and take it all in, look at the lock and watch as boats make their way....the hosts Jeff and Core are amazing and are every day working to make improvements to the property. You have a real feeling of family. enjoy the Sunday Brunch on the porch facing the lake or take a stroll with an ice cream from the on site snack bar. We truly enjoyed our stay and will return. The bed was super comfy, if you are looking for a super powerful and hot shower you may be out of luck, remember where you are! Small price to pay for everything else that was fabulous. I you are lucky enough to be greeted by the most loving Golden Retriever, powow give her a pet and puppy kiss for me!
Great staff very friendly GF options for breakfast, very accommodating and kind.
We did not stay as the property is not at all like the photos.
I asked to see the room which smelled heavily of mold. I returned the key to the snackbar because we were told the office lobby was not open. I am asking for a refund. The place is a dump. I feel like the ratings on the internet are part of a scam to get you there with no other option in the area.
No hot water, no hand soap.
Told manager, he couldn’t care less
Not worth the money at all. Do not stay here. It’s a tired rundown place.
My husband and I had a wonderful couple of days at Hotel Kenney. This vintage hotel is rustic but unique and the setting right at Jones Falls Lock is spectacular! Lots of interesting sites in the area to explore, especially for history buffs. If dining at the hotel, expect a leisurely experience but know that the meal is well worth the wait! Sunday brunch was amazing, so many choices! We stayed in Hilltop cabin. The queen bed was very comfortable. Just a heads up: the shower stall is quite small. Jeff went out of his way to make us feel welcome and to ensure that our stay was enjoyable!
It is hood
The locks were nice food was amazing
Friendly staff and nice place to stay
Had a lovely cabin. Nice dinner and service was perfect.
Never expected breakfast which is included are so luxurious! And the lake view just right behind the hotel room is such stunning! It’s absolutely over expected!
Hotel Kenny was a beautiful and relaxing location. The new owners are working hard to refurbish the property but keeping the nostalgic feel, which we appreciate. The food was outstanding!!! We were there very late in the season and were the only people there the last night, however they treated us like royalty and served the best meal of the trip, family style! Chef Core went above and beyond and even opened the ice cream parlor for us, even though it was closed that day. We had unusually warm weather for October so the ice cream was a treat!!! Thank you for a wonderful stay!!!
Jeff is an awesome host! The location of the property is lovely - on the water and at the base of the locks! The restaurant was not open while we were there so I can't comment. As for the property itself, it is in need of some TLC - sadly, it is quite rundown. Our accommodation in one of the chalets seemed to have had some renovations - a very comfy bed but still quite rustic. We look forward to returning when renovations are completed.
The hotel and the rooms needs total renovations. It smells like moisture, the carpet is dirty, the tapestry and paint comes off, the bath tub is rusty and yellow, the mattress must date from the 80's. It is a 2 star hotel. The service is very good but you do not sleep on the service counter! Very creepy place. Be aware.
Had relaxing weekend at Hotel Kenneys. Staff was very friendly and helpfull. The owners were great and got what we needed right away. Compliments to the Chef, the food was really good especially breakfast and Sunday brunch had so much variety. Stayed at the Inn on the lakes which is older part but very clean. Enjoyed the sliding door facing the water to sit and watch the boats going through the locks or just relax and read a book. The Jones Falls provincial park just a walk across ghe bridge was also nice to see. Would definetly recommend and will be going back.
This was quite an expensive stay. We paid $280 for a Lakeside Room. The carpet in our room was dirty and full of animal hair. Some of our lights didn’t work and the water was cold when we showered. Overall, the staff was great, location is stunning, and the rooms are dated, grounds aren’t well maintained, and it seems too expensive for what you get.
woodwork was rotting, paint peeling, reception area smelled strongly of mildew. Unit bathroom was dirty, tub was filthy. Air conditioner very noisy. Owners info re where to find an open restaurant on a Monday was wrong.
TV worked.
nice snack bar
Very attentive staff.
The staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms are spread over several separate buildings. My room ("Inn on the Lake") was large, clean, an generally nice but the bathroom could use some renovation. The location is spectacular, in clear view of 3 tiers of the Jones Falls Locks.
Hôtel très bien situé . Un peu vétuste mais personnel aux petits soins .
