Important information:

From 1st January 2023, a tourist tax of RM 10 per room per night is applied to all foreign guests. This tax is not included in the room rate and must be paid upon check-in. Guests with a valid Malaysian Identity Card or valid permanent residents MY PR Card are exempted. Currently, we accept only Vaccinated guests into our property.

Pros:

I made a booking for 17th march to 18th march 2026 for a stay in De Sweet Boutique Hotel.

I couldn’t get to the hotel for 3pm check in due to work,
i only managed to get there by 6am.

When i was at the reception i told the staff of De Sweet Boutique namely:Ariq that im here to check in.

He mentioned my booking has been cancelled due to no show and that he said a text was sent before 6am to inform me via whatsapp.

I said i did not receive any text in whatsapp probably i was out of range and could be due to my unstable network.

I also told him why didn't you email me instead to inform as that should be the most appropriate Channel.

He kept quiet.
I told him how could you do this.
never in my entire life i came across such a situation in any of my other stays.
No matter how late i show up or arrived no hotels or apartments has done this to me.

Your hotel policy is totally absurd.

I said i paid you in full,whether i come or dont the room should be kept available until the check out date.

I have my rights for his information.
I spent almost 30mins at the reception questioning and explaining,he wasn't able to reason and come out with any solutions other then telling me to re-book the hotel for 18th to 19th and make another payment.

This has resulted me to make another new booking.
This was so unpleasant and it made me extremely unhappy.

Later that day i came to find out from a kind and friendly staff namely Firdaus who reported for work around 7am who also has been in service for 3years that this shouldn't be the case,my booking was still valid and i could check in with no hassle,can only regard it as no show by 7am then they are allowed to cancel on the guest booking for system reset

This clearly means Ariq made a big mistake by executing it at 6am,
he also checked over a phone call at 6+ am with Wayes his supervisor for a resolution who also couldn't come to helpful solution other then proposing a ridiculous options to incur further loss.

Cons:

Staff Ariq and Wayes the supervisor need brushing up.

Pros:

Nice room, clean and tidy. Even its on 3 storey shop house but it come with elevator.

Cons:

The location. Must circle one big round or do a u-turn at the nex traffic light.

Pros:

It was open for late check-in

Cons:

Even if it was a premium suite, the room had a stinky smell. Not from the toilet but from curtains. It has not been washed. The musty smell is really disgusting. Gave me a headache.

Worth the penny
Pros:

Check in and out process were fast. The staff was efficient too.

Cons:

Room soundproof a bit poor. The baby next to our room crying all night long could be clearly heard
