Over priced for a noisy basic hotel room without a bathroom
Pros:

The bed was very comfortable

Cons:

The curtains were see through and other guests using the balcony till late in the evening (midnight) could see into the room.

It was very noisy btw the guests in the veranda and the karaoke

There was no milk in the common area to make a cup or tea or coffee in the morning

The bed sheets were clean and tidy, not a bedbug in sight thank goodness, as for the bathrooms, these to were clean and tidy. I wish I could give a more positive outlook but the sad truth is, I can't.

Cons:

Arrived at the reception area, and waited for almost 15 minutes to be seen to, because there was only one person working at the bar. If he didn't go looking for anyone, we would have waited far longer. We signed in got our key and went to our room. Ahhh, the bedroom. Plenty of room to swing a cat, we had a wardrobe that was locked, no key. Couldn't hang our clothes up anywhere, there was a bed and it was broken, on the side closest to the window all the legs were at a 45 degree angle. The amount of times I stubbed my toes was crazy. The bottom of the bed underneath in the middle had snapped and the springs were loose and very bouncy. Dinnertime, dinner was, well late, from ordering to serving over an hour, due to being understaffed. The food wasn't the best, and gave me problems the rest of the night as well as the morning. But it was just toilet duties keeping me up. Because of the bed springs, each time my wife rolled over during the night, I was tossed to the floor. OK the first time was a bit funny but that wore off very quickly after the 2nd 3rd and 4th time. OK the Criterion Hotel is old, and it has its charm from its creaky floorboards but that said, I won't be going back.
