Criterion Warwick Hotel

The room accommodation was nothing like what was represented on booking.com
The building was in very poor condition in need of a lot of maintenance and the room had paint peeling off the walls. The male shared bathroom was unusable and the males had to share the female bathroom. Access to the verandah was blocked from the room we were given because it was unsafe which was very disappointing as we booked a deluxe room.

The bathroom plumbing needs attention. One of the showers was seriously leaking all night (and we have just been drought declared) and the shower pressure was appalling. Also a curtain to block out the hall light would be nice.

The communal bathroom and toilets were quite run down.

My stay was abhorrent. Firstly, I had pre paid and they insisted that I still owed them for the night. It was eventually resolved but I received a room with no lock on the back door and peeling wall point. My neighbour was smoking w**d with the door open. At 3am a huge yelling fight woke me up and I imagine the police would have been called. Genuinely the worst experience of my life. Please stay ANYWHERE else in Warwick

Staff weren't very friendly. Breakfast Not available. Told it opened at 6am...but no one there at 7am.
DJ thumping under our bedroom till Midnight. Walls peeling paint. No hotwater from tap in room handbasin. Fromt verandah shabby and old cups , drinks left on tables for duration of our stay. Female toilets/showers only open,so had to share with Males. Toilets in public area were basic and door didnt lock.

The Male showers were closed and no information as to where i could have a shower.

Bathrooms could be a bit better

The paint was failing off the walls, the room was freezing cold due to the gaps in the door leading to the balcony which was closed off due to renovation work, no bed side lamp. The walls were dirty. The toilets were on the other side of the building, the noise level was crazy, live music down stairs in the bar , my room was directly above it, the walls were literally shaking with the loudness of the music , I was wearing earplugs and still couldn't block out the noise, the room was over priced for what I paid for. There were leaks in the ceiling in the hallway, buckets on the floor to collect the rain water. There were black hairs of the bed, not mine. I didnt stay the night, I checked out before the nights end.

There needs to be blackout curtains on the doors or a curtain that goes over the doors to block out the street lighting. Other than that, all was good.

No lift

The accommodation is very poor. The building is run down and needs a lot of work to bring it up to standard. Recent rain damaged the ceilings, carpets on one side of the building were wet, 1 of 2 bathrooms closed, no heating.

Bright light on balcony was on all night outside the room, only a small lace curtain on window, so no privacy or screen from the light. Toulet floor needs a good scrub.

The noise, however we were warned at check-in and provided with earplugs!
