The night we spent in the treehouse was an unparalleled experience. In the Yala area, close to the famous national park, there is a small forest where the treehouses stand about 7 meters above the ground, spaced far apart to ensure complete privacy.
Although the accommodation is minimal (as it should be), it features a comfortable bed enclosed in a mosquito net, a fan, a bathroom, and a shower — all handcrafted but built with very solid architecture.
We had dinner at their restaurant: the food was delicious, the portions generous, and the space well cared for. Finally, the staff also arranged for a jeep driver to take us on a wonderful sunset safari.
Highly recommended!!!
The idea of Tree Houses was nice but clearly this resort has been forgotten and is in need of serious maintenance. The experience of being in a tree house itself was nice, but nothing in the bathrooms worked (we had two treehouses), the area around the treehouses was covered in discarded plastic sheets and bottles- clearly nobody thought it would be a good idea to clear the plastic litter from the property. Food was a - simple (ok) but incredibly expensive for what it was. Breakfast was a joke - cold fried egg, toasts with only the top slice of bread of the pile toasted. This place clearly needs some substantial TLC and investment.
Bathrooms leaking, not working, netting torn, plastic bottles and plastic litter scattered around the place. Very expensive food for what it was - should have been a fraction of the price.
Dormire su un albero.
Abbiamo organizzato il safari con loro e non ci siamo trovati bene con il driver (non parlava inglese e il pomeriggio abbiamo praticamente fatto lo stesso percorso della mattinatap)
Great concept of having tree huts. The main staff member was extremely helpful. Loved the out in the bush feel about the place.
Quite a lot of rubbish around the property. A fair amount of maintenance needed to the tree houses and associated areas.
Cabin is a great adventure, and the bed was very comfy.
I wish the booking confirmation had been more clear that paying with cash was the only option, the ATM is not close.
The staff are super nice and very helpful. We arrived in the pouring rain at night and they were already waiting for us with umbrella and Flash lightes. Because there were small streams all over the area, we were escorted to our accommodation. The breakfast was typically Sri Lankan and good. The tree house is very simply furnished but completely adequate and, as promised, you are in the middle of nature.
1. before arrival we were told that the safari in Yala National Park for 2 people (full day) would cost 300$ if we booked it through the accommodation. As the price was too expensive for us, we booked the full-day safari ourselves. On arrival, the staff then reduced the price to 180$, which was cheaper than our tour, so we booked the safari through the accommodation after all.
2. as the in-house restaurant was closed, we were offered to order any Sri Lankan meal for 3000 rupees per person. As this was again too expensive for us, we declined. On the second evening, we were unable to leave the accommodation for health reasons, so we were forced to order something at the accommodation. Unfortunately, we could only order fried rice for 3000 rupees per person.
From these two experiences, despite the really nice hospitality, we got the impression that the tourists were simply being ripped off.
We only chose the Yala Beddegama Eco Resort because we wanted to stay in the tree house accommodation. On arrival, we were already wondering how tight the roof really was. Unfortunately, it rained heavily on the first evening and as a result, not only the floor and table but also the beds were wet. The other tree houses were not occupied and on request we were not able to spend the night there either (probably because the beds there were also wet), i.e. we spent the night in a normal cabin. As there were also thunderstorms the following day and the roof was not tight, we stayed in the normal cabin. On the day of departure we were still charged the price for the more expensive tree house.
Overall, the price-performance ratio is poor. The booked rooms were not habitable in the rain and were still charged.
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this accommodation.
Nothing stayed one night out of four and had to pay for 4 nights
There was no restaurant that was stated.no tea coffee facilities.cold bought in dinner over priced and under cooked chicken.manger sold us a safari 15mln after we arrived, quoting us 18000 for got to mention the additional 21000 for entrance fee.we were so disappointed we had to leave but had to pay for the full 4 night.your site clearly states restaurant facilities by far the worst property I have ever booked with booked.com
We would ever have booked this property had we known the lack of facilities.we really fill you should update your help information regarding this property.i am sure you are aware of some of the terrible reviews on your site.clerley the worst place we have stayed in sri lanka and over priced to 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
The treehouses are rustic and as they appear in the photographs. It is a great experience to stay a night in a treehouse but very expensive compared to other accommodation in Sri Lanka
They say they have a restaurant but they don’t. We ordered dinner and unbeknownst to us it was bought for us from Somewhere outside. We were charged 3000LKR each for a dinner of basic fried rice & a few bit of dried chicken. It was our most expensive meal in Sri Lanka. The beer is also a rip off at 1250LKR for a 500mk can of Lion. This was real shame as the manager Sidart is a lovely man but the whole experience ended up being our most expensive night in Sri Lanka by far. They need to get more realistic with their pricing and don’t advertise that you have a restaurant if you don’t.
A super cool way to spend a couple of nights, the treehouse was really fun. It's rustic, rugged and everything we were hoping for. Its absolutely beautiful. The staff are fantastic, super friendly and always on hand to help out. The food was excellent. If you get the chance, I highly recommend taking 15 minutes to spend some time looking around the ancient tree on their grounds in the jungle, it's breathtaking.
Nothing, we loved it. It's pretty basic in terms of facilities which is exactly what we were expecting, but if you're looking for the lap of luxury this isn't the place for you. If you want an outdoor living experience, in a treehouse then this is absolutely the place you should visit.
Treehouses were really nice and property in general has a cool style. During our stay it was raining, we we’re not able to use our extra bed, one would have to take that into consideration. The chef was amazing, we had all three meals there.
Sadly the prices we’re not transparent, drinks we ordered were 1500 lkr and extra meals were 3000 lkr so not your usual prices in Sri Lanka, but if that’s in your price range then no problem. We found some of the owner’s actions not sincere and constant begging for a good Google review didn’t make it better. One writes a good review when the experience was good, not when one asks for it.
staff were great and the rooms were comfortable.
very out of the way of the town centre. meals were quite expensive.
The staff were super friendly and helpful
The tree house was amazing. Felt like being in a jungle.
The experience of sleeping up in the trees, hearing critters crossing the roof, the incredible friendliness of the staff and the tasty food they cooked for us.
I've treated everything as high as I can, but I'm rating it as a tree house. The bed was clean and comfy, but the shower is a bamboo pipe (and cold!) which is what I expect living in a tree house! It was great watching the monkeys, birds and squirrels playing in the canopies of the trees around us.
The staff were incredible, making us feel like we were the only people staying there (it was full for both nights that we stayed), showing us the sights around the property and talking us through the meals, what went into them and how to cook them.
Nothing, I would go back in a heartbeat.
