All the staff at the hotel are wonderful and quick to respond. The rooms are very clean and although I was there during a time they were doing some renovations there was no noise or inconvenience to guests. I will recommend this ti anyone that prefers a quiet hotel and will definitely stay here again.

The price is what sold us. Service from front desk was nice. The room was dirtier than average and had limited amenities. The breakfast that comes with the side restaurant felt like an afterthought in terms of content, service, and environment. Front desk says restaurant can't send drinks for in-room service. Restaurant is actually a nightclub from 2-5am where the noise will definitely keep you awake. Can be inconvenient to get around to other parts of the city.
The lobby is beautiful but that is about it. The basic amenities were 1 tiny bottle of shampoo, and 1 tiny bottle of body wash. Conditioner was chargeable. Better to get a full sized bottle of shampoo, conditioner and body wash from a "nearby" mall (more than 30 mins drive away) instead. Mould surrounded shower and sink area, sink was decolourised and well-used, towels had holes and the hems were all tattered. Had to call housekeeping for missing towels daily. Had a kitchen but pointless coz not even a single cutlery could be found. Had a washer and dryer in the room but had to run the dryer 7 rounds to dry the clothes. When given feedback, staff said that "not all guests wanted their clothes fully dry" - what? They want to wear/pack damp clothing? Breakfast selection did not reflect a "luxury" hotel as boasted, but instead was that of a star-less hotel. Even a boutique hotel can do better. Same food selection daily was an overkill to paying for it. Bed was squeaky and bed linen was torn. Floorboards were equally squeaky and uneven. All in all, Metropole has seen it's good days but it's time for a major overhaul to survive.
The bed
It stank of weed!! On the pictures the hotel shows it is above a dominoes. It is not. It’s above a weed shop. Breakfast was so bad we couldn’t eat the the rest of the stay
The room was nice, staff were nice and flexible check out at 2 was nice
They could put pictures, plants and other things to make the place looks mich better as the basics are good
