Beautiful, clean, friendly!
Pros:

This place is a gem! The charm of an old house combined with beautifully updated rooms makes the Mount Vernon Inn a bargain. The courtyard is well-kept, and walking through it is like immersing yourself in a Victorian-era garden. The breakfast is cooked-to-order and included… absolutely delicious. They also accommodated my dietary restrictions, because they ask at the time you place your reservation. Super-friendly staff. Don’t hesitate to book this place!

No Worries with this one
Pros:

What a charming place to stay in a quaint little town. The staff at the Mount Vernon in are among the best ever. Each one was helpful, cheerful, and knowledgeable about their town and all it has to offer. Comfortable, reasonably priced rooms , open up to a magically manicured courtyard that invites you to relax with a drink in hand and enjoy your stay. The owner, Kate and her husband are very much involved in refurbishing their community and are gracious hosts. We had a memorable stay and will definitely come back.

This place was awesome. Charming, clean, great breakfast, friendly staff, and a cool little town. What a refreshing change from the Interstate corporate motels. So nice to see that someone is still doing hospitality well. And the courtyard garden... has to be seen to be believed

Pros:

The price seemed like a steal for all the amenities we received. Our favorite feature was the tables in the Garden. We were able to enjoy each other in a beautiful setting.

Cons:

Pictures of the property are kind of misleading, so I assume the experience greatly depends on the room one is given.

The inn is actually located on a main street with a gas station in front, and one on the side. Definitely not the best part of the town.

Our rooms was pretty small, with no space or piece of furniture in the bathroom to lay anything on.
Rooms are also arranged on one level as a cloister, so depending on where you are, people will pass by your window.

In general, this place seems in need of a major update.

A Very Nice Stay.
Pros:

I spent an ideal night in The Buckeye Room (#26). It was clean and very quiet, perfect for a good sleep. It's easy to see that a lot of love has gone into this inn.
The low fee for my room included a made to order breakfast. It was lovely.
I was met with a friendly welcome from Kate and treated with great respect.
I will happily return to the Mount Vernon Inn again soon.
