Kind staff, nice (but already cold) breakfast. WiFi is really good, and the location is great. Spacious parking lot next to hotel.

Cons:

I'm not a smoker and they put me in smoking room. Sure, there were signs "no smoking", but as a non-smoker you can immediately smell if the room is smoking or not. Usually non-smoking rooms are more expensive and this was obviously a scam.
I tried opening windows and ventilating the room, but no success. The carpet, the curtains, the duvet - everything has that old-smoke stench.
Also, they didn't want to give me an invoice. I paid upfront via booking.com, but they claimed they can't give an invoice. I got something at the end when I already left, but still...

Recommendable hotel close to the station
Pros:

The hotel is really close to the station and had a large room with all the things needed. I can absolutely recommend this hotel for a stay in Biei.

Pros:

夕食は食べませんでした。お寿司やさんを紹介していただきましたが　まあまあでした。でも友人はとても久しぶりの生のお魚をとても喜んでいました
