Location
Large family room. Plenty of beds. Quiet location
Could hear every noise
The location
The room was so old, desperately needs a freshen up.
The bathroom cabinets were filthy, the window coverings were inadequate, need block out blinds.
Clean quality and friendly staff will use this facility again
The over the phone booking service I prefer to speak to a person
Good location and good value for money
A little run down but clean and comfortable
No Breakfast, the room was cosy enough, old and outdated but ok. Close to everything we wanted, RSL, shops etc.
We were travelling to Cobar to stay at the motel which is our usual place to stop overnight coming from Qld to SA usually 2-3 times per year. This year we had an accident outside of Westmar Qld where our trailer came unhitched and took off into the verge on the opposite side of the road standing vertically
We were in a no reception area and it took us about 3 hours to get it all back on the ground and to make out way slowly to St George. As soon as we got the I called to copper city motel to advise that due to the accident and needing to get the trailer fixed there was no way we were going to be able to make it there
Not only did the reception not cancel our booking (this I know as we received an email next day stating thanks for staying with us it was a pleasure to host you)
But we were charged full amount of $190
I realise that cancellations need to be done more than 24 hours to get full refund however I booked on the 6th to arrive on the 7th and as we had an accident it was not simply a case of oh we are not coming. We physically could not drive the 6 hours to Cobar with our trailer in the condition it was.
The people of St George were wonderful and we had electrics replaced, leaf springs replaced, axel straightened and new tyres put on by early afternoon of the 8th.
When I asked if we could possibly be refunded due to the costs of getting fixed plus paying 2 nights accomodation in St George we hadn't bargained on we were told a flat out no that's not our policy. No offer of partial refund, a free night on our way home or any empathy at all. The poor man behind the counter was compassionate and was doing his job which I fully understand and he put me onto his boss (Vipul) via phone who was an utter pig.
We will never stay here again
Too small
Good location, close to town.
We were rather disappointed with our room, #13.
The room had some bugs in it when we first moved in, which we managed to removed and the room wasnt the most pleasent-smelling.
However, during the night, the bathroom filled with bugs and insects, making it unuseable in the morning.
Several powerpoints are not working, or are cracked and are unsafe to use. The towel rack in the bathroom is falling out of the wall: unable to use.
I hope others don’t go through similar experiences.
Ticked the boxes.
Extremely noisy air conditioning unit which seemed to be a relic from the 1980s.
