The hotel’s historic atmosphere, peaceful setting, and beautiful views were truly wonderful. Its unique character really lets you experience the charm of Büyükada. The staff were extremely friendly, attentive, and helpful. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable stay on the island.
Although we didn’t personally need it, one of the staff members mentioned an interesting detail: apparently, the hotel had gone without air conditioning for around 100 years, but AC units were finally installed just last week! :) Also, I have to mention that this hotel had the best-quality hotel slippers I’ve ever seen.
Since the hotel is a historic old wooden building, the sound insulation is naturally not very strong, so you can sometimes hear noise from the neighboring rooms. However, this wasn’t a major issue for us and didn’t significantly affect our overall experience.
Everything
We loved everything about the hotel: very well preserved and tastefully renovated, great pool, great food (we had both dinner and breakfast here), and excellent service.
We paid extra for one of the “sea view” rooms only to realize that this also meant facing the main street and having to hear very loud music until 2 am. If there’s nothing the hotel can do about the loud music, it would be helpful to include a disclaimer. We would have traded the sea view for better sleep in one of the back rooms if given the choice.

Pool side in perfect
There is no air condition in rooms just one evaporative kooler that just make room more humid
Un hôtel ancien magnifique, avec un charme préservé. L'emplacement est idéal : le centre animé et les restaurants sont accessibles à pied en quelques minutes. Chambres agréables et salle de bain parfaite. Bon point : la piscine est légèrement en retrait, cachée derrière le bâtiment, ce qui la rend très tranquille. Le petit déjeuner sur la terrasse face à la mer vaut à lui seul le séjour.
Pas de climatisation et un seul ventilateur pour deux, ce qui rend les nuits très chaudes et difficiles ; et un choix au petit déjeuner un peu limité.
A truly wonderful stay at Splendid Palace! The hospitality was exceptional, and every member of the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. The hotel is beautifully decorated with elegant interiors full of charm. The food was delicious, the swimming pool was perfect for relaxing, and everything was spotless and perfectly organized. Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of. We were especially touched by how kind and caring everyone was towards our young son. We highly recommend this hotel and can’t wait to come back!
