- The suite matched the pictures and did, in fact, have a private bedroom plus a living room with a sofa bed. This means that two people can sleep in separate rooms for much cheaper than renting two queen rooms. Plus, the bedroom has a lock, and unlike the bathroom, there is no alternate entrance that bypasses the locked door.
- The living room and bedroom each have separate air conditioning units, so each person can set it to the temperature they want. The AC units work well, too.
- A mini fridge, microwave oven, coffee maker with K-Cups and some tea, and a safe, among other things, are provided.
- I personally found the bed comfortable.
- The hotel has (paid) laundry facilities and (free) ice dispensers.
- I was able to park a 15-foot U-Haul moving truck in the parking lot, and I saw a couple of even bigger trucks there as well. Nothing happened to the U-Haul overnight, but bear in mind that parking such a vehicle in a hotel parking lot is still a security risk. I had a steering wheel lock on, and a disc padlock on the back, but even then, I felt a bit uneasy; such things can only reduce the risk, and never eliminate it.
- I guess that by this point, I should expect hotel bathrooms to be designed by dead monkeys brought back to life by a socially awkward necromancer who brought them back because he was lonely and wanted someone to talk to, but let me list some of the things wrong with the bathroom:
-- Unlike some other hotels I've been to, the bathroom has a door that locks. That's nice, right? Except that the lock is rendered completely pointless by the fact that there are louvred shutters above the bathtub that can be opened FROM THE OUTSIDE. You can either open the louvres and creep on your companion from outside, or, if you really have absolutely no respect for other people's boundaries, you can open the shutters completely and barge right in with the other person helpless to stop you. The attached photo is of me sticking my hand through the louvres from outside the bathroom.
-- Sound passes right through the aforementioned shutters, even when they're completely closed. So if you're sitting on the toilet and taking a nasty diarrhea dump, anyone who is in the living room will hear everything.
-- The shower door does not close very well.
-- There is no toilet brush.
- I didn't find the sofa bed comfortable, but the person I was with found it more comfortable than the bed in the bedroom. So it actually worked out well for both of us.
- I found some signs of uncleanness. I didn't see anything that raised serious concerns, such as mould or cockroaches, but I found a few faded stains on the sofa and a little bit of grime in the bathroom.
- Unfortunately, the elevator was not working, meaning we had to climb up two flights of stairs to get to our room, but I think the hotel handled the situation well. They offered free cancellation, for one thing, but we did not take them up on that offer.
The staff all had wonderful attitudes and were very helpful and kind.
Breakfast is good with fresh grind coffee machines. Location is great when staying in LaPorte.
The property seems to be in the process of renovations? Not sure but in our room, there used to be a mirror? hanging on the wall but now only holes and brackets left where something used to be hung. We had a king size bed and the other half of room was just blank space. Carpet needs a good clean.
GOOD
2 coffee machines broke down. no coffee, tables sticky
Glad we decided to stay here. Went to a concert in New Buffalo and this was the closest place that had a reasonable price. Clean & friendly staff. Would stay again
The location
Our first room was very muggy, there was a used razor in the bathroom, our room smelled very bad and the AC didn’t work properly. Brandon the front desk guy was super nice and got us a new room and it was much better.
Front desk people were knowledgeable, responsive. Room was clean. it was quiet, peaceful. Breakfast was great.

Clean. Breakfast above average. Coffee in lobby can take a bit if there’s a line, but it is as fresh as possible as each cup is ground and brewed by the cup (45-60 seconds to brew a cup)
Shower water pressure could be stronger - television could use updating - overall, would stay here again
Ok
Clean the room
