Pros:

A2B taxi service QR code in reception helped as we were new to the area. Direct access to harbour for restaurant and shopping.

Cons:

Limited WiFi in the room, despite being ground floor and nearest to reception (only had signal in bathroom or bedroom corner). Very very small room and tiny shower cubicle (couldn't easily bend down to access shampoo bottles and no shower shelf as alternative). Breakfast buffet didnt "refill" quickly, meaning limited options available when we joined midway through service. No heating or cooling options in the room, so after the shower was used, the small room became stifling and very uncomfortable to stay in. Room was also much smaller than expected for the price paid.

Enjoyed our stay and one would comeback again.
Pros:

Reception was staffed and helpful on arrival, had us checked in swiftly with all the info we needed. The room was clean and bed, pillows, sheets were a good quality. Bathroom again was clean and functional (shower in my room was a little tight fit - but I am a little on the well fed side), stocked with clean towels, also shampoo and soaps provided. Room had kettle and usual assorted tea's and biscuits etc. The evening meal was excellent, I had the sirloin (medium) and it was spot-on. Looking round the pleasant dining area I could see everyone was content with the offerings they had received. Waiter was excellent and engaged. The breakfast buffet is highly recommended - (I'm a bacon - sausage - toast kind of guy) and there was over options available (my son had the salmon and scrambled eggs). While we were there we had a s swim (water warm) and sauna - which was great after a long drive coming to see the universities.

Cons:

I'd say this is more a few action points: Remove/replace the lockers in the male changing area's. Tighten up a few fittings in the bathrooms e.g. toilet paper holder fell off, toilet seat was a groin chopper - needs soft close or adjusting. I suggest you could also offer cans of coke/lemonade at the bar as one of my drinks was poured from a bottle of fizz and was on the flat side (very minor but a bug bear of mine lol when paying for doubles!). - These are all very minor - just a few tweaks in my opinion and I would definitely stay here again.

Nice stay, a bit going back in time
Pros:

Hotel is beautiful and if you have a car, it is well located.
Bedroom was really comfortable

Cons:

Property has aged and you can see sign of « run-down ».
Breakfast was a bit ordinary, quality of products could be improved.
Staff was nice but could benefit for a bit more service experience.

Lovely 2 night stay
Pros:

My husband booked 2 nights in this charming, but slightly aging hotel, we stayed in one of the Garden rooms, it was huge, spotlessly clean, plenty of hot water , but the bed was rock hard!
service was excellent ( thank you Will )
Breakfast was such good value, choice of full English etc.
The spa facilities can only be described as needing a bit of a facelift, but the pool was very clean, as was the jacuzzi & sauna, but there were cracked tiles on the steps & it looked a bit tired. However this is a 3 *** hotel, & the value for money was excellent, staff very friendly, I’d definitely stay again. Thank you

Pros:

The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was excellent

Cons:

The noise from the shower/ fan of the adjoining room. We got a rude awakening at 6 one morning when the occupant of the room next to ours had a long early shower

Pros:

Our host at the bar and lady at reception were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. Decor dated and plain no personality, even though the building has huge potential.
