Wonderful city, superb location. Visit Lviv, support Ukraine. Don't be afraid of despicable terrorists from neighbouring countries. Slava Ukraini! VISIT LVIV!
This is an old building, but has been updated. I booked the least expensive room offered, just to see what the hotel was like and I was pleasantly surprised with both the size of the room (huge room!) and the quality of the furnishings, this hotel offers quality similar to, or better than some of the best 4 and 5 star hotels that I have been in, for a price that is very affordable. The hotel is in the city center, on a major street, with both bus and tram stops across the street from the hotel, so travel within the city is very easy. The area around the hotel is also very walkable and several landmarks (Opera, Castle) are within walking distance. Both the Train and Bus stations are together and can be accessed with the Tram (# 6 Tram goes to both for 20 UAH, USD ~$ 0.50). There are also several good restaurants within walking distance. If there are any "drawbacks" with this hotel, they would be that since this is an old hotel there is no elevator and also no handicap access, so if you are mobility restricted this is not the hotel for you, as there is no way to access the upper floors except with the stairs. The only other comment that I would make is that most of the hotel staff do not speak English, they speak Ukrainian, but I had no problem communicating with them in Russian.
Beautiful, historic building with 12 foot tall ceilings and beautiful touches to the building. Really nice place to stay with excellent staff!
Incredible ambiance, huge room, stylish and cozy; at the same time steps from all the great places in the city centre.
The British Club has great charm. It is helpful that some of the staff speak good English. Our suite was great, the bed was overly soft and needs retiring but otherwise the rooms were spacious and well maintained with good facilities provided. Location is excellent next to the opera and an easy walk to the centre. The opera is beautiful and tickets are cheap, give it a try!
Good location. Near city center. No lift. Breakfast dishes were sometimes wet and smelled funky.
Absolutely top notch service!
Very caring and attentive bilingual (Ukr & Eng)staff.
Nourishing fresh breakfasts!
Excellent location!
Nothing left to be said!
Wonderful location , very central but quiet. Makes you feel like local resident not just a visitor.
The older style building and furnishings, rooms, etc
We are very happy with British Club Lviv. The locatoin is great just minutes away from Opera Theater and all the attractions and restaurants. Reception was great too. They helped us to rent a taxi for 5 people (on the way from railway station to the hotel). Rooms are great too. Just what we needed for our group of 5 (it is apartment type and there are a fireplace full size kitchen 2 bedrooms an the third room can be used as a bedroom too). I would recomend this place. And I surely stay here again in the future. Keep in mind that the building is 105 years old and for guest who appreciate old architecture it would be a bonus :)
The location is great, however the place is dated. We booked 2 rooms ( a standard and a deluxe) and to my surprise, there hardly was any difference in the 2. Old, as in used furniture but clean. What can I say, not a bad cheap and cheerful 2-3 star equivalent place, but nowhere near the rating it has. PS, the breakfast is terrible. No english breakfast option and a small continental buffet with the option to order eggs. Last morning we had breakfast in the city rather than enjoying a free one...
Charming old building made into well equipped self contained flats, but also with breakfast room. Lots of UK memorabilia
Great comfortable, freindly. But 108 steps, to top floor that's hard.
Huge apartment, yummy breakfast. Lovely quirky decor- there is actually a huge picture of Winston Churchill in the lobby! No elevator, so not good for folks with reduced mobility. If we visit L'viv again we will be staying here! There were some bugs flying around in the room that got in when we opened the windows, because there weren't screens, and my mom did get bitten by them overnight, but that's my only complaint!
I love that the rooms you get are very spacious, and clean, and the hotel only has a few rooms so it's quiet. The location could not be better, Just a block from the Opera House and a couple of blocks from the main tourist areas. Grocery store right next door and the market is just a few blocks away. Everything is in easy walking distance.
The included breakfast has a good variety and the staff are all great. There is no bar or restaurant in this hotel however,. But being so close to everything you don't need it. There are places to eat on every corner a couple of blocks away. The hotel does not have a big sign, so it was easy to miss the first time I drove down the street. look for the big arched doorways. highly recommend this place if you are visiting Lviv.
Ideally located 2 minutes from the main square the British Club is a great place to stay while visiting Lviv. Our accommodation was a four room suite with two huge bedrooms, drawing room with impressive desk and well equipped kitchen plus separate shower room and WC. The breakfast too was well presented and most enjoyable. The unobtrusive entrance leads to a very pleasant place to stay while visiting Lviv. Would definitely stay again
Worst place I ever stay . In website is all lies. The Hotel is not Hotel it is apartment building 4 floor, no elevator. People don’t speak any language except Ukrainian .
No cafe in the room , not clean !not suggesting to stay in this place . Took them all night to arrange invoice for 2 nights . They offer me invoice in Ukrainian not in English . Worst place I ever stay . No respect for guests
Great location and excellent staff. highly recommend
Absolutely gorgeous apartments in downtown Lviv. Nicely located just in the back of the main street with about a 2 minute walk to the Opera house. Short commute from the main train station.
Spacious rooms, refurbished interior, good quality, good breakfast, helpful and sociable personell. We asked to organised shuttle from and to the airport - it was done. We asked to find a guide - it was done and very good one.
