Stayed whilst attending The Open - excellent location. Basically modern, clean, student accommodation. Only real issue was the mattress which was worn. Very quiet and easy walk into Canterbury centre 10 mins and further 10 mins to train station.
In case of any misconceptions, this is not a conventional hotel, it is student accommodation for Canterbury Christchurch University. The rooms are clean and cater for basic needs with en-suite shower rooms, but don't expect a TV or phone in the room, or even a kettle - you need to walk along the corridor to the kitchen for that. The 'double' beds are also small doubles, and not particularly comfortable. Unfortunately at the time of our visit, a delay in completion of the key programming system meant that we had to be let back in to our block by a member of staff each time we went out; our key would only open our room door. Also some rowdy students (perhaps having just graduated) woke us up briefly during the night.
Having said all that, Petros Court is a very modern block close to the centre of Canterbury, and the room was spotlessly clean and reasonably priced, with 24 hour check-in facilities. Excellent base for anyone on a tight budget.
I really liked it here. It is a student residence so is relatively basic but modern and clean and very close to the city centre and east station. The security person from whom i got my key was v friendly and helpful and the cooked breakfast at Barista and Baker was v good. The only room for improvement was that there was a lack of details about where one could go for breakfast - it would be v helpful to have a note with the key.
Bed is a bit small for 2 people but facilities are great and the staff are cheerful and friendly.
I liked it, however room service need to knock louder!
Brilliant apart from the bin men waking us up.
No wifi service, poor customer service ,too far from Town
I wasn't expecting much, but the dorm room was very clean and they even included a cute little pouch of shampoo and shower gel. There is no parking for a car, which we didn't realize. We did run out of toilet paper at one point, but it was quickly remedied. The dorm is very safe- lots of gates to go through. We were there before students came back so it was very quiet. Comfortable bed and there was even a fan for when it got stuffy. Great value and great room. I've stayed in hotels rooms that were not as comfortable nor as clean.
Nice place, but really really hot
The accommodation is in Canterbury City Centre approximately five minutes walk from the shopping area. As it is student accommodation you have use of a kitchen with communal area as well as your own double room with ensuite. The site was built around a year ago so all facilities are as new and of a high standard.
Very warm welcome from the staff and almost new facilities. The hotel is just a few minutes from the old town
Modern student accommodation, which is used as a hotel during the summer holidays (while students are away). Room and Ensuite bathroom were clean and nicely decorated. The bed was comfortable. My only criticism is that the room (in August) was too hot. Staff (security staff who look after the premises) were friendly and very helpful. No on site parking, but it's only 4 stops from New Dover park and ride. Location is perfect for visiting the city. Safe, secure and clean accommodation. Exceptional value for money,I would happily stay here again. If you're looking for somewhere to sleep and explore from, Saint Petros Court deliveres on everything that matters.
Checked in by security staff who were unfriendly and simply are not cut for checking in customers (reception job).
Even on trying to have a decent conversation with the guards, I was made to feel like a suspect. The hotel need to employ properly trained check in staff members not the guards whose attitudes stink.
Looking for a place to stay, in easy walking distance to the city center and county cricket ground for an event. Accommodation clean and comfortable for a brief visit. The lack of on site parking was the only inconvenience. I would happily pay extra for a permit if this was available.
They had no record of my booking when I arrived, which caused a minor delay. But the staff couldn't have been more helpful, and the accommodation was spacious and comfortable.
Good VALUE, new, tidy, student accomm - equiv to 3*
We enjoyed the room and the service was fine. However on the Hotels.com website it said clearly 24 hour check in but when we got there at 11am they said we wouldnt be able to check in until 1400. Btw the confirmation emails also said nothing about a 1400 check in. It was slightly annoying as we could have gotten up later to arrive from a later coach.
Purpose built student accommodation so don't expect too many frills. Not exactly cheap accommodation, but the building is new (opened 2015 apparently), well-located near to city centre. There is no parking on site.
Small double bed. Free wifi was a bit tedious to set up.
Rooms were stuffy in the summer heat and the windows couldnt be fully opened. Luckily we were provided with an electric fan. Bad installation position of the black-out blinds: the open window will interfere with putting down the blinds.
When we got into the room, we found that the bins were not emptied, reported it but it was still not done after several hours.
Overall, service provided by the reception security lodge was good.
Easy enough to find. Got in touch with the person who runs the accommodation ahead of arriving and they were very helpful.
Lacking: 1. mirror for bathroom handbasin;
2. plug " " " ;
3. a second chair ( a double room booked for 2 ); and
4. the free inetrnet access was too complicated & private info. was demanded, which was excessive & intrusive
for a 1 night stay.
