I’ve always stayed at this hotel because it’s good and handy for the ferry. I didn’t stay last year and was surprised at how downhill it had gone. After checking in I asked if there was a lift as I have a bad knee (awaiting knee replacement) to be told there wasn’t and had to walk up the two flights of stairs. They did offer to get someone to bring my case up but I wasn’t sure how long I’d have to wait. In the room, whilst it was clean, the phone to reception didn’t work and the bath was badly broken.
Nothing at all I checked in but it was so disgusting I did not stay. I would like my money back,
When you book this hotel you’re probably using it because you have an early ferry crossing and this hotel is very conveniently located for Rosslare Harbour which is why you’ve booked it.
The hotel is tired and run down, but it’s in a great location for the harbour and serves its purpose well.
The staff were very friendly with us, the room was ok except our shower didn’t work properly which we found out at 6am. Fire alarm went off at 3.30am because of a door being opened somewhere in the hotel which woke our 7month old up which wasn’t great, but on the flip side it worked very well if there was a fire.
We were able to make our early ferry with a 5 min drive and that’s why we booked this hotel.
Food in the bar was ok and doesn’t pretend to be anything more than bar food.
Overall don’t expect much from the hotel, but if you’re catching an early ferry it’s an easy drive there in only 5 mins.
It was tatty..smelly and terrible breakfast. We cancelled our return booking even though it was handy for the ferry port
Tv in the room not working. Breakfast was cereal, and toast only
Bonne situation mais l’hôtel a besoin d’amour.
Les plafonds du resto menacent de nous tomber sur la tête
Hotel is located conveniently within walking distance of train/ferry stations. Beautiful ocean view from many of the rooms. Hotel is older, but room is clean, comfortable and bathroom is nicely modernly updated. Staff are extremely nice and accommodating. Would stay here again if we can get back to Ireland!!
We found the staff there very friendly, and helpful in all I had asked of them, the rooms were tidy and comfortable. What surprised us was the cost of beer- accommodation- and above all the food which was top drawer the service was excellent and all served with a smile will definitely be back.
Just a one night stay. Staff were very helpful and the food was very good but the rooms were looking a bit worn!
The staff were very attentive and helpful. However the general condition of the hotel needs maintenance.
No hot water! No WiFi reception in room. Noisy bar below until 1.00am.
Was lovely except a bit of entertainment at night would be good. Very boring had to leave for the room at nine or before
The location was great for getting the morning ferry. The hotel was rather tired and in need of refurbishment, but the room itself was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Plenty of hot water for a welcome soak in the bath after a long drive. I would have passed a very comfortable night, had it not been for an alarm sounding loudly at approximately 10.45, waking me from a sound sleep. I started to grab my things, only for the alarm to stop after a few seconds. I fell asleep again, only for the same thing to happen again an hour later. After that, any sleep was fitful and I woke exhausted in the morning. As I made my way downstairs, I could hear the same alarm ringing further down the corridor. There was nobody on Reception and I was more concerned about getting my ferry, so I dropped my room key in the receptacle and left. Were it not for the unexplained alarms, it would have been a comfortable, if basic, stay.
Friendly staff clean and comfortable bed near ferry port
The location was ideal for the ferry to Fishguard but that is only high point of this hotel. The building is pretty run down and furnishings very dated and could do with a revamp, i cant comment on the food as i arrived quite late for dinner. As for the free breakfast, i was told at check-in that cooked food was not available for breakfast even though that's what was advertised in the hotel description. Instead it was a poor continental spread of which i took one look and left, so overall a disappointing visit.
