Pas de petit déjeuner et pas de restaurant très proche
Petit déjeuner : un œuf au plat , 2 bouts de pain, 3 petites morceaux de beurre pour 4. Pas possible d en avoir plus et qq morceaux de pastèque. Pas de confiture, jus de fruits. Un tout petit café.
Paiement par carte bancaire non accepté et nous l avons appris qu en payant !
L’emplacement
Les cafards, l’absence de room service malgré les annonces, pas d’eau chaude…

It was all good
Staff were pleasant and helpful but communication difficult (no one can speak English). Convenient location.
Rooms have rugs that are very dirty (spotted and ingrained dirt)--apparently no vacuum cleaner available for maids to use. Hot water tanks very small with a constant struggle to get enough hot water.

The room and toilet is very spacious.
The windows are old fashioned. The louvres are outside and a hassle to open it.
Room was big but very smelly. Bed sheet was wrinkled and looked like it has not been changed. Not enough staff. Door lock could not open and mosquitos everywhere.
Interestingly large hotel staff have very limited English but helpful. Well located for the tourist attractions. However the hotel rooms had not seen a vacuum before we checked in. (we had 2 rooms). Expect the beds to be type Vietnamese. (Quite hard).
Also had a massage here which was a little personal and little consideration for our dignity!
There are not a lot of choices for Westerners in Dien Bien Phu. A1 Hotel is a solid choice, though it's a bit rough around the edges. However, it's conveniently located next to the A1 battlefield, the Dien Bien Phu Museum, the Cemetary, and about 20 minutes from the Command Bunker. I wouldn't visit the restaurant next to the Hotel. Although it's a bit spartanesque, the hotel was better than I expected.
The beds are like cement slabs. It’s clean enough but not brilliant, it was adequate for a small town hotel, though having said that I lost my glasses in a taxi and the hotel staff got them back for me I was delighted at that service.
Very nice hotel. Was there on a overnight stay. Convenient to Điển Bien Phu museum and A1 hill
