Great nights stay
Pros:

We found The Bushel a very welcoming environment for our one night stay. All the staff were extremely pleasant, friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and comfortable and the dinner and breakfast we had were really tasty. We loved the feel and decor of the pub, centrally located and with parking too. Perfect!

Central position. Staff friendly overall. Clean

Cons:

Tiny car park difficult to find. Breakfast seemed quite disorganised. They had run out of all roast dinners by 6pm. Quite steep stairs unsuitable for elderly or disabled guests

Good choice of nonalcoholic drinks.

Cons:

The bar was advertised as being open till 10.30, we double-checked this with the daystaff, which they confirmed.
We arrived back at just after 10, the bar man was not pleased, he served us but kept singing a song about catching a train home and going to bed.
He eventually told us to go to our room at 10.25.

If I need accommodation in Bury St. Edmund's again The Bushell would be my preference.
Pros:

The staff were were very pleasant and friendly, taking an interest in their guests.
Breakfast was served within minutes of my arrival in the dining area.
The hotel is in a quiet location.

The location is the perfect walking distance from everything to see in Bury Saint Edmunds. Well kept bar, restaurant and the outdoor seating was lovely.
