Pros:

This boutique hotel is perfectly situated to explore Leiden and is located next to the canal, historic city gate and the Park de Put windmill- it’s very picturesque! It’s also just under a 10 minute walk from the central station and close to a multi-storey car park- very convenient!

The hotel is tastefully decorated and room 14 was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was superb- a selection of breads and croissants with meats and cheese, as well as yogurt, fruit and granola, small pieces of cake and boiled egg- great for a big appetite! We also enjoyed drinks and a snack platter on the terrace in the afternoon sunshine while watching passing boats on the canal! Receiving a token for free drinks at the bar for skipping a room clean is a nice touch, there is also an honesty bar for drinks after the hotel bar has closed at 9pm.

There are plenty of excellent restaurants, bars and cafes within easy walking distance.

This was our first visit to Leiden and we loved it and cannot recommend the city and hotel enough! We will be back!

Cons:

The room could have had a little more storage and there is noise from the square outside of an evening- but to be expected in a vibrant and busy city like Leiden!

Super expérience, j'y retournerai!
Pros:

Très bel hôtel, moderne, bien placé, des boissons offertes si vous choisissez de renoncer à ce qu'on vous fasse la chambre entre vos deux nuits, un super petit déjeuner, et du personnel très agréable et serviable.

Cons:

Aurait mérité d'être légèrement mieux insonorisé en week-end quand les fêtards du bar d'à côté décident de prolonger la soirée et un réfrigérateur pour ceux qui comme moi ont un traitement à maintenir au frais, mais à part ça, rien à redire.

Tolles Hotel mit toller Lage!
Pros:

Tolle historische Location mit modernen Zimmern. Gutes aber preisintensives Frühstück.

Cons:

Wir wurden gefragt, ob wir auf den Zimmerservice verzichten und als Gegenleistung einen Gutschein für die Bar bekommen möchten. Dieses Angebot haben haben wir angenommen. Allerding wurde das nicht konsequent vom Hotel für jeden Tag ohne Zimmerservice umgesetzt, sondern nur einmalig gewährt. Eine Anrechnung auf das Frühstück war nicht möglich.

Wonderful location and clean comfortable beds
Pros:

Location was excellent. Beds were comfortable and water was hot for the shower. Liked the history of the place. Staff were all pleasant.

Cons:

See through glass bathrooms are terrible. No privacy when sharing a room. There is noise between rooms - Not just the banging of shower doors but we can hear neighbors blow their nose or cough. Soap products were watery and not sudsy at all. Bathroom had very little counter space for getting ready at the mirror.

Pros:

Great location close to train station and bus station. Easy walk into city too. Friendly staff; clean, comfortable rooms. Breakfast not buffet style but a selection provided to you. Nice outdoor seating area.

A perfect stay in Leiden!
Pros:

This was such a unique and beautiful Boutique Hotel. The fact that it used to be military barracks was very interesting but let me assure you it is now a luxurious stay. We were upstairs and the room was well done and the bed was very comfortable. I will say that the ceiling slopes and there are beams, so if you are tall watch your head around the edges. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. We were taking the train every day and it was a short <10 minute walk to the train/bus station. It was about 10-15 minutes to the central area where many restaurants are on the canal, however there are other restaurants that are closer. The breakfast was delicious.

Nothing at all!

Super séjour dans un hôtel plein de charme !
Pros:

Le lieu est un délicat mélange d'éléments historiques et de modernité. Et quand il fait beau, il est très agréable de flâner sur la terrasse.
