Water Garden Hotel

Pas de chambre prête à notre arrivée, très sale, sans eau chaude, sans toilette et sans clim le 1er jour, le 2ème jour changement de chambre mais toujours pas d'eau chaude, cafard dans la chambre, chambre hyper humide avec une odeur hyper désagréable. Lavabo qui fuit, abattement de wc cassé, peinture piquée d'humidité. J'ai des photos qui prouvent mes dires.

Cheap but a shambles. Poor service, most service have very poor English (one young guy is best for organising everything). Cold water in shower, lots of mosquitos and bugs. Restaurant has good food but lots of mosquitos - a few other restaurants in area and easy to get around on a bicycle.

pros : very nice staff, food is great, Wi-Fi is speed, good location to visit the park.
Cons : I wanted to visit Wilpattu national Park. The hotel recommended me a guide who scammed me with the entrance fee. he asked me to pay twice the normal foreigner price. at the beginning I trusted him but I quickly realised that was not the good price. the reception guy at the entrance was an accomplice too.

we were only there for one night. Staff friendly and quite helpful. For the price a decent place to stay. watch out for the alligator in the creek. He seemed friendly, but we didn't get too close. Easy walk to bus station from here.

The blanket and towel they provided are smelly. Wifi is very slow.

Do not book the Budget Double room (or any room in this hotel). According to the Hotels.com listing, it has breakfast included, AC and TV. When I arrived I was told to have booked a room only and was given a room without TV (AC only on request).

After showing the listing on Hostel.com, I was given a bigger room with TV (I suppose it was the Deluxe Double room).

But still, the room and the hotel do not hold up against what is promised on hotels.com:
-Balcony: NO, -Daily housekeeping: NO, -Free bottled water: NO, -Free newspaper: NO, -Free toiletries: NO, -Free WiFi: slow/unstable, -Premium TV channels: four distortet singhalese channels. -Separate dining/living/sitting area: not in the room

The bathroom had no window or other ventilation and quite smelly. Room and bathroom were filled with mosquitos, as the doors were kept open (smell?)

There is staff a plenty, but none of them seems competent enough to work in a hotel (or even know, how a hotel works). Location is quite nice at a river bank (if quite a way out of town), but even here the dining area is littered and filthy.

If you use the restaurant check the bill against the menu. A starter for 150Rs showed up on the bill for 650Rs! Or go to another restaurant - the food is not that special anyway.

This place has quite some potential, it's just totally unused.

As is, the description on Hotels.com is false adverstising.

Kleine Mängel und Flecken hier und da, aber Preis Leistung stimmt vollkommen. Personal ist sehr bemüht, ausgiebiges Frühstück! Uns wurde außerdem kostenlos eine Bootsfahrt angeboten...

Good and friendly service. Special thanks for Mr. Deepal who took care my parents all special requests. He prepared "kiri Pindu" to offer "Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi" early morning as my parents wish.My parents had a good stay and they were happy about everything.

Location stupenda, peccato per lo staff, in parte maleducato e la struttura poco curata.
Nel complesso sono stato bene, Il proprietario delizioso e sempre disponibilissimo

We had a really nice stay over there. The rooms are very nice and clean. The people who work there are very friendly and we got welcomed at the hotel with a nice glass of fresh juice!

We stayed with family when we visit anuradapura and hotel provide great facilities

Totaal niet schoon. Veel te veel eten. Ongedierte liep in de kamer. Haren lagen nog op de grond. Personeel was vriendelijk, maar erg veel vergeten.
