Makmai Villa

Gammel og slidt, men acceptabelt i forhold til prisen. Køleskab virkede ikke. På toilettet var faciliteterne meget slidte.
Til gengæld var der god service. Blev kørt til færgen til Koh Samet.

The couple who owned the property were amazing I would stay again simply for them. Their English was incredible and their hospitality exceptional.

Good location by great beach, a decent restaurant nearby. Very friendly and helpful guy at the reception who booked us transport to the pier for Koh Samet. The backyard pool is not deep enough, no sunbeds. The hardest and narrowest beds ever. No bed sheets, synthetic pillow cases. No cloth hangers at all. Nice balcony with sea view.

Close to the beach but lack of foods. Room is clean but outdated. Lovely service.

This is a nice hotel very close to the beach. It is not top class but we can recommend it. It is not expensive and the owners are extremely helpful and nice. The fine beach is just across the street. It is not so much traffic and the area is peaceful. There are also a big number of restaurants close. On the downside (for us) is that the whole area is dominated by western tourists. Not so very much local flavour. But if you are looking for a calm stay with a nice beach, this is the place to go.

Booked 2 nights here but only stayed one, not due to hotel just my friends contacted me to meet me somewhere else for my birthday.
Room very clean, beach is quite and ok but as with most beaches in this area you cannot swim in the sea due to strong under currents and rip tides.
Only downside was Air Con, room probably never went below 27/28 oC.

Nice place, friendly staff. The only hitch was we used their laundry service and the clothes came back quite damp

Accomodation in clean and tidy condition. Hosts friendly and helpful. We stayed over a long weekend and the area was very busy. Unfortunately the noise from other guests started at 4am in the morning.
Families ignored the sign at the pool being open from 8am to 8pm and entered the pool to play volleyball from before 7am with much yelling and screaming.

The owner was very helpful and polite. His English is excellent and he always helped us with anything we needed. The Villa is well maintained and very clean. The housekeepers were efficient and the room was cleaned everyday, including new sheets, towels, swept, and mopped. The grounds and outside hallways and stairs are well cared for. Despite it being Songkran festival there was still adequate parking. We really cannot think of anything negative to say about Makmai Villa!

We stayed 3 nights at Makmai Villa. Although the place has been in business for a long time, the management has kept it in very good condition. Our room opens to sweet smelling flower trees and is supplied with firm & comfortable bed with clean beddings, medium sized fridge, warm shower heater, a study table and spacious room to move around inside. We particularly loved the blue & white theme of the room. The room is super clean and the staff are super friendly and helpful. They kindly suggested places to visit and eat in Rayong. That was great!

Unfortunately, it has been raining and the waves brought tons of trashes ashore. It's a pity because the beach is so peaceful; the sea breeze so refreshing and the vast horizon so breathtaking.. but we had to glance over tons of trashes. :(

Having said that, we found Makmai Villa a safe & strategic base to move around to explore Rayong and Chantaburi,.

I found the couple extremely helpful and very good English speakers as well.

This was a very comfortable clean friendly place to stay! With a great pool, or the beach was just across the road. There were plenty of restaurants and street vendors available. All in all a great hotel!

Makmai villa in Rayong was the best place we have stayed in Thailand. Location on this 10 km of beach was in the heart of the strip. The proprietors were most helpful and spoke excellent English. We extended our stay here because we liked it so much.
