This was such and amazing evening new years in cr7 pestana the staff where fantastic during new year’s celebrations from start to finish you can’t fault them Eduardo in particular was fantastic on organising my engagement and the food and service was sublime and the rooms where amazing once again thank you so much for making my year you where all amazing

Nice atmosphere. Good service friendly staff, Cristina was very helpful, passing as lots of good information and taking good care of our selfs and all the other customers as well.

Pros:

Great location and easy access to town, bars, and restaurants.
Clean rooms and communal spaces.
Breakfast extensive with great choice of hot and cold foods and served 8am to 11am.
Late Check out 12 noon standard.
Superior rooms look out onto port so you can see the cruise ships docking and leaving.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Roof terrace bar.
Rooms cleaned daily.
Reasonable price.

Cons
Can be noisy with inconsiderate room residents. Even with balcony doors closed noise can disturb your sleep.

On the whole a great choice!

On arrival reception in the middle of the restaurant area on a small table! Room allocated on the road side clean but well out of date and hardly any light! Slept their for two nights and on second night managed to get to sleep at 0500 in the morning due to local nightclub playing music! Moved on third day onto the Marina side the next day! Room lighter but balcony door didn't close properly! Fixed temporarily by the pool lifeguard! Room was above restaurants so noise yet again! Breakfast okay but felt like sitting in a youth hostel! Whole hotel needs a revamp! Carpets in hallway to room need a good clean! Hotel living off CR7 brand name but sorry never 4 star! Cleaning staff very friendly! We tried to move hotel but that was another nightmare - V Tours not very organized and helpful! All in all very disappointed not worth the money!

We are currently staying at the Pestana CR7 Hotel, and I would love to highlight the amazing service from Caesar at the rooftop bar. He is truly one of a kind – always friendly, attentive, and full of positive energy. He makes the best Caesar’s Sangria we’ve ever had, and he takes such great care of every guest.

Caesar even surprised my son with some pineapple pieces and a refreshing Brisa (passion fruit soda) – such a kind and thoughtful gesture! His warm personality, communication skills, and professionalism make every visit to the rooftop bar a real pleasure.

I can highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting – thanks to people like Caesar who make the experience so special. Thank you for making our stay unforgettable!

Estamos hospedados no Pestana CR7 Hotel e gostava de destacar o excelente serviço do Caesar no bar do terraço. Ele é realmente excecional – sempre simpático, atencioso e cheio de boa energia. Faz a melhor Sangria Caesar que já provámos e cuida de cada hóspede com muito carinho.

O Caesar até surpreendeu o meu filho com uns pedaços de ananás e uma Brisa (refrigerante de maracujá) – um gesto tão amável e atencioso! A sua simpatia, capacidade de comunicação e profissionalismo tornam cada visita ao bar do terraço um verdadeiro prazer.

Recomendo vivamente este hotel a todos os que visitam – graças a pessoas como o Caesar, que tornam a experiência tão especial. Obrigado por tornar a nossa estadia inesquecível!

Tout d'abord, les points positifs :

1) Le petit-déjeuner offre un excellent choix au buffet et un service à la commande. Les omelettes sont excellentes !
2) L'accueil et la gentillesse du personnel.
3) La vue depuis la terrasse de la piscine sur le port et la ville.
4) La promenade facile et agréable de 15 minutes jusqu'à la ville et ses bons restaurants.
5) Le parking souterrain est facile d'accès, mais aucune réduction n'est proposée aux clients de l'hôtel, soit 15 euros par jour.

Points négatifs :
1) Le bruit. Les chambres paires sont proches de la route, l'une des principales voies d'accès à Funchal. Certains se plaignent du bruit du casino, situé en haut de la colline, mais je pense que ce n'est pas aussi gênant qu'il y paraît.
Les chambres impaires donnent sur le port, ce qui offre une vue intéressante. Mais les chambres à partir de la 125e se trouvent au-dessus de la terrasse d'un bar-restaurant indépendant de l'hôtel. Extrêmement fréquenté et bruyant, il est ouvert jusqu'à tard, jusqu'au petit matin, le week-end, semble-t-il. Les clients parlent fort par-dessus la musique d'ambiance et leurs enfants courent et crient. C'est parfait pour eux… mais pas si vous essayez de dormir… Les chambres de la 101e à la 125e devraient être plus confortables.
Malheureusement… ce n'est pas sous le contrôle de l'hôtel…

Das Zimmer war nicht sauber, es hatte noch Haare am Boden im WC. Weiter ist das Zimmer sehr Dunkel, aufgrund von schlechter Beleuchtung und dass man die Vorhänge geschlossen halten muss da jeder hineinsehen kann wenn man aussen durchgeht. Personal ist freundlich und Hilfsbereit. Das Bett ist sehr schlecht und nebenann ist ein Club welcher sehr laut ist. Kurz gesagt bin ich entäuscht und das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis stimmt nicht.

We stayed here for 4 nights bed and breakfast, we throughly enjoyed it and would recommend. The pool area is small but nice with great views of Funchal, we never struggled to get sunbeds regardless of what time we went to the pool. There is a pool bar and a jacuzzi also with a sauna.

The location is ideal, just a short 10 minute walk into Funchal with a plethora of bars and restaurants. We ate lunch at the hotel once, we really enjoyed the pizzas definitely recommend trying. Unfortunately, the breakfast let the hotel down as selection was very limited. The cooked breakfast was poor and not replenished once gone, most mornings we came down and all the eggs etc were gone. Coffee is great as there is a nespresso pod coffee machine but the food could definitely be improved. We ended up going out for breakfast instead twice as there is an Oakberry next door.

The staff were fantastic and very accommodating, always very friendly and making sure you’re enjoying yourself. They knew my partner was a huge Ronaldo fan and left a little note and brownie in the room for us when we checked in, we were also given complementary entry into the museum next door.🚪 We had the superior double room and really liked it, the balcony area was nice and room size great. The bathroom is an unusual design with bright yellow walls but overall a nice space.

We would recommend people to stay here when visiting Funchal, Ronaldo fans or not.

Superb hospitality with one of the best I have seen in Europe, pleasant and friendly staff.

The location of the hotel is not only at walking distance to all major sightseeing in Funchal, but also have tour operator options nearby and within the hotel itself. The central location makes it quite easy and convenient to commute with the public transport nearby.

The rooms are also spacious with perfect Ocean view to grace your vacation everyday.

The breakfast had a wide variety of food selection with also a possibility for customized preference. The hotel also had an option to get a breakfast package incase someone would like to leave early in morning for sightseeing.

The area is also very safe to roam around and go for walks around after sunset.

Hotel was very run down, the room didn't feel very clean. When going in and out of the hotel the staff don't greet you. At the bar it takes over 15 minutes for them to acknowledge you. The only friendly staff were some of the cleaners who greeted you when you walked past. We stayed for 4 nights and 2 of those nights we couldn't use the roof terrace as they had private parties. There is loud music playing all night until around 2am coming from the front of the hotel every day. The beds are very uncomfortable they wobble even if you just lean on it. We had breakfast included in our stay however the food and layout of it looked extremely unappetising. After researching about the hotel and everywhere saying that you get free entry to the museu.
That is infact not true and you do have to pay. Overall very disappointed in this hotel. Considering that all other cr7 hotels look beautiful and well looked after. And the one that is in Ronaldo's home is the worst of them all. Unfortunately its the worse hotel i have ever stayed in.

As a former GM of a few hotels. I will say it was an enjoyable stay. The design of the property with all its natural light and views is amazing: the breakfast was impressive with such great variety with both cold and warm foods. The coffee machine/area could use signage staying the pods are in the drawer below. The portion size of the wine was so minimal I had to send it back to increase the volume to 6oz. The room was very clean. Housekeeping was wonderful. The room is not lit well with only one small overhead light at the entrance. My room was 104. It was basically next to the outdoor pool and bar area. Every night ( 4 in total) the music/party was loud and difficult to sleep. I did not ask to be moved, but probably should have had. Again, overall an excellent stay. I want to recognize both Marcus and Hugo for their excellent service. Marcus, who checked me in was kind, thoughtful and took time to inform me of an excellent seafood restaurant:

Gegenüber vom Hotel ist ein Night Club und es finden auch Open Air Festivals ganz in der Nähe statt. Donnerstags hört man nachts Musik, freitags ist es laut und samstags ist es so ein unerträglicher Lärm, dass ich als Stressreaktion meines Körpers Herzrasen bekommen habe. Es ist so laut, dass Ohrstöpsel überhaupt nicht helfen. Der Bass ist so stark im Hotelzimmer zu spüren, die Musik läuft bis in die frühen Morgenstunden und ein DJ redet ins Mikrofon die ganze Zeit lang nur Quatsch.

Wer nachts Ruhe und Entspannung sucht, ist in diesem Hotel auf jeden Fall falsch. Wenn, dann würde ich im CR7 nur zwischen Sonntag und Mittwoch übernachten. Eventuell auch noch donnerstags, aber definitiv nicht am Wochenende.

Das Frühstück fand ich für ein 4* Sterne Hotel unspektakulär bis mager. Jeden Tag gab es das gleiche. Das Personal stellt die Sachen täglich nur an eine andere Stelle damit man sich morgens aufs Neue zurecht finden muss. Mir hat die Kapselmaschine aus Umweltgründen nicht gefallen.

Der Umgang des Hotels mit Beschwerden fand ich mangelhaft. Die Dame an der Rezeption war sehr freundlich, aber sagte wegen dem Lärm, dass der Hotelmanager dafür zuständig sei. Ich soll am nächsten Tag um 11 Uhr wiederkommen. Da hatte ich aber eine Tour gebucht. Mir gefiel es nicht, dass von mir als Hotelgast erwartet wird, dass ich zu einer vom Hotel bestimmten Uhrzeit erscheinen soll, um über eine Problemlösung zu sprechen.

Continental style breakfast only. If you’re UK do not expect bacon or eggs (scrambled available). No omelette station provided.
Bathroom window is plain and faces the balcony. Blind is in the room so the people in the room have the control over whether the world sees you in the shower. (My husband thought that would be funny!) No idea why they didn’t use frosted glass.
The room:
is just big enough. Considering it was over £340 extra for the balcony I expected it to be bigger.
Not enough storage. Only half a wardrobe that just about takes a long garment plus a couple of drawers and shelves.
It’s incredibly dark. Only two lights above the bed. A single lamp in the corner.
No plugs by the mirrors. Not designed with a woman in mind. You have to use the dryer in the bathroom, where there is a plug, and it’s the only place with light anyway.
Downstairs feels like a bar. It’s also where you have breakfast. No proper reception just a spot in the bar but staff were helpful and attentive.
8 hangers for two people so if you need more, bring some.

We are having a great time at the Pestana CR7 in Funchal. Rooms are great clean and well tended to every day. The Pool, jacuzzi and service are great and especially César in the pool bar who has looked after our every need’s. Breakfast is fantastic and the rest of the menu is amazing. The views are as good as it gets and the weather has helped with it being nice. The location of the hotel is right in the middle and not far from everything you need. The atmosphere is great with music by the pool and not too noisy. All in all it has been great value for what we paid. If you are a Christiano Ronaldo fan then the hotel is right next to the CR7 Museum.

Lovely staff, they are very friendly and cheerfull. The hotel is located in a very central area of Funchal.

Overall experience was very good. The room was comfortable and clean and for sure the staff are excellent - very friendly and helpful. I broke the door handle to the outdoor sun terrace - no problem sorted quickly. Room staff and downstairs team very friendly. Location excellent as close to town without the hilly walk that other hotels have. Perfect for us as we like to mooch into town and do stuff on the evening and the was very easy. Breakfast I enjoyed and was relaxed. Nice breads.
Pool area was good as the hotel doesn’t have many guest rooms so it was generally pretty quiet and it was nice to have a dip! All spotlessly clean with the pool man clearly being fastidious about his area!
What I would say could be better was the downstairs for relaxing if you didn’t want to sit in your room. It’s a bit like a funky work space you would have in London- maybe sports bar feel to it. Lacking sofas to lounge about read etc - don’t feel like that. Walk into other foyers and they are perhaps more welcoming - and the bar area at the door was a bit out of place! We weren’t using it but the was my thought. We don’t eat other than breakfast and went to town each night.
The prod fr out weighed any cons and I enjoyed my week there with my son.

When we arrived at the reception we were very well received, the staff was very friendly. Regarding the hotel, I thought it would be something else because it was CR7. I checked here to surprise my son. The decoration with Cristiano Ronaldo was only in the rooms, a banner. The hallway was all gray. It should have more about Cristiano, even in the garden or pool. It was a little disappointing. We went to the museum and paid for the tickets, also for parking.

Jacuzzi fermé à deux reprises, Sauna fermé à deux reprises également. Piscine agréable et jolie.

Attention ! Boîte de nuit rooftop à côté de l'hôtel du coup les chambres côtés rue se retrouvent avec un bruit enorme impossible de dormir (sans exagération). L'hôtel subit cette situation, ils ont contacté la police mais ne peuvent pas faire beaucoup plus car ils sont en conflit avec la boîte depuis un moment pour faire cesser cela ...).

Heureusement le personnel de l'hôtel est au top et nous avons eu une chambre vue mer (côté calme pour le reste du séjour). Mais si l'hôtel avait été complet pendant la totalité du séjour nous aurions pu vivre un enfer sans pouvoir changer de chambre dans je préfère prévenir quand même afin d'éviter de gâcher un séjour si un changement de chambre est impossible.

Amazing friendly staff

Best hotel for Ronaldo fans and non fans. Staffs were very kind and helpful. Clean, in a convenient and stunning location of Funchal. Will definitely go again and very much recommend. Every thing was just beautiful, the views of the mountain and harbour were stunning. No reasons not to stay.
