Excellent.
Queuing for food as resident with large numbers of public even though meal had been booked in advance. Bad organisation.
Great location
Bar menu
We had a room on the ground floor, at the back. Quiet, and a lovely view of the village & hills. It had a back door opening onto a long patio (the length of the building). In 9 days, we only saw one person (another guest) pass our windows/patio door. Hotel is comfortable, excellent breakfast. 3 stars is accurate. WIFI is excellent. Food is plentiful, breakfast & evening meals in the bar area.
Room service skipped our room twice (over 9 days). There was a large wedding taking place & can appreciate they may have been busy, but our bins weren’t emptied & we ran low on milk for tea/coffee and toilet roll. Reception were very apologetic & sorted things very quickly.
The hotel is accomodating of wheelchairs & is accessible for all - but not straight forward. A small stairlift is used to access the breakfast room (about 8 stairs) and to access the bar/restaurant the wheelchair user had to go out the main door and around the building & in the beer garden door (which was fine during hot weather)
Lots of Parking. Friendly staff.
Stone's throw from the beach / coast / sea / perfect for SUP, swim, watersports.
Hike, sadly, not possible as the path was temporarily closed. However, I'm sure it would've been really good.
If you are going to be out and about (mostly), then this is an OK stopover.
Smell from the bathroom.
Dirt(?) (black stuff) + water from the taps of the bathroom basin.
The shower barely had any pressure.
Amazing view, exceptional staff!,
lots of outdoor space and parking, great location next to the beach. Drinks in the bar are a reasonable price.
Hotel generally a bit run down, shower facilities clean and functional but very basic, breakfast expensive for the quality no air con in the room.
Lovely hotel, great, helpful staff and a lovely location
Nothing
Location great, fabulous views.
Need black out blinds for bedroom window, curtains very thin, barely covered the window which let the early morning light in.
We had sea view room which was great but noisy as overlooked the outdoor seating for the bar.
Good breakfast, Good service
As with many of the hotels the food is limited to standard fish & Chips, Burgers and such like. Fish is served in batter and there is a very minor choice of non meat dishes. This is common throughout the Lake district although there are some exceptional restaurants.
Lovely breakfast. Friendly staff. Great location.
No towels in room, heatwave but no fan in room so didn’t sleep well. Noise outside including at night due to litter noisily blowing around the yard.
Property was right on the beach amazing views
Hotel is dated. There was no hairdryer in room nor chargers for phone points. If you hadn’t taken a plug there was nothing on website to suggest. Staff at check in wernt welcoming I was told to wait whilst she finished on system. A cleaner came and asked me to move from the reception desk whilst she collected sheets or table clothes whilst carrying out conversation with receptionist. I’d booked a table at the bar for food I rang the day prior when we went to the bar we were told no reservation I’m not surprised if it was the same receptionist taking table bookings
Great location and friendly staff
Location is amazing, room was clean and tidy, the bed was very comfortable and for the price it was great🙂
Needs a little tlc in places, rooms were clean, staff were great but it is showing its age in places.
The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. There were extra pillows and blankets if required. All of the staff that we met were friendly and helpful. Great food in the evening - would recommend the sticky toffee pudding! We have stayed here numerous times and we will definitely stay again in the future.
The staff were great. The reception staff were very helpful and assisted in changing our room type to suit us better. The hotel bar/restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was great too.
The nicest hotel we've stayed in, the room was lovely and big, the food was excellent and the customer service from every single member of staff was over and above anywhere else we've stayed at. Can't wait to revisit.
Everything was perfect so nothing to dislike.
Clean and comfortable. Friendly staff.
