Lovely hotel — Casco viejo is the only place I’d want to stay in Panama City
Pros:

Beautiful hotel in an exceptional location. The life outside in the square at night is amazing.
The staff were great — special shout-out to Mario at reception, who helped me when I had to reschedule a flight for a family emergency.

Precioso hotel y muy céntrico
Pros:

Precioso hotel histórico localizado en el Centro de la ciudad. Habitaciones con cama muy cómoda y limpias.

Comfortable stay at a very convenient location at a price compatible with the hotel category in Casco Viejo.

Great location at a central Casco Viejo square, comfortable and clean room, excellent breakfast.

Cons:

I was fully charged for the duration of the stay plus a $100 security deposit to my credit card at checkin and then fully charged again for the two-day stay at checkout. The initial charge was cancelled the day after my departure but it’s a quite unusual practice. I questioned the front desk agent about the need to charge me again for the full stay since I have already paid the amount and $100 as security deposit at checkin but received a confuse explanation about the hotel’s policy and that the difference would be reimbursed “soon” depending on the card operator. As per my card balance sheet it was an actual charge not a pre-authorization which made me very suspicious and uncomfortable when I left the hotel.

Good location!

The location was convenient and we enjoyed the historical site.

Cons:

I was disappointed by the hospitality, especially since it’s a beautiful property.

During check-in, they provided a room that was not the one shown or similar to the one in my reservation. They finally accommodated the request when I noticed and mentioned the front desk.

There was no water available in the breakfast area. We asked for a bottle of water, and I was charged $10 for two small bottles because there were none on the breakfast beverage station. These are essential and should be included in breakfast, specially mineral water. On the first day, the gentleman did not inform us that there would be a charge for water and cappuccino coffee. This should have been informed before sitting down at the breakfast table or before ordering. Nobody offered us anything when we sat down on the first day. Until the next day, the same person from the first day told us that what we had ordered the day before was not included. I was disappointed with the breakfast attendant. Only on the last day, a lady offer the welcome beverage. She was the kindest there.

Rooftop and belt mans where attentive. One of the restaurant hosts from downstairs suggested a dish and it was deli. We felt welcome by his hospitality. Thank you!

Pros:

Hotel lindo. Quartos amplos e muito confortáveis. Chuveiro excelente. Ótimo café da manhã. Funcionarios atenciosos. Localização perfeita, próximo a diversos restaurantes, pontos turísticos e no lugar mais charmoso da cidade.
