We booked this hotel believing it to be in Ooty. It is approximately 20kms out of Ooty up in the Nilgiri mountains. This journey took one hour each time to drive up and down the cork screw mountain road. The hotel is accessed by a 1km unmade pot hole strewn uneven road. Our skillful driver didn't complain but it could seriously damage a car.
The hotel had wonderful views over the tea plantations, was very quiet and serene.
The room was clean, the shower was powerful with plenty of hot water. The bathroom door however was made of chipboard which was falling apart.
The restaurant menu was good but western breakfasts were basic.
It appears they have only four permanent staff members with students filling the gaps. Surprisingly, their English was limited.
The hotel is geared more for Indian tourists all of whom were very pleasant. The staff however were not smiley and didn't portray any warmth.
It was a blissful experience...the resort is outstanding, so is the food and the service. The food is amazing. the staff is extremely helpful n proactive. the only downside is the approach road. unless u have a skilled driver...its very risky. that is the only shortcoming...rest the experience was brilliant.
Location is bit off road. But i knew in advance and i was fine with it. Please note last 1 KM road is in bad shape and late night it might be scary as there is no light and house.
Rooms view is stunning. Room size is big. Bed mattress could be better. I have no complain on cleanliness as it was fine.
Room service was fine too as i went every room was full so i had some difficulties but i guess non holiday time it should be fine. I would say breakfast was bit disappointing, i would suggest them to look forward to improve breakfast.
If you are looking for better view to stay in calm place without much complain this is your place. If you expecting 4 star or 5 star treatment this might not be your place.
We stayed at green nest resort for 3 days. The resort is in a private and quiet location with great views all throughout the property and from the room also. It's very quiet away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. The room & resort was well stocked with amenities that one may need. We had 24/7 hot water in room and the room had heater also. We stayed in royal room which was very spacious and had great views from the room and the balcony as well. The sofa's and bed were comfortable. The room was very clean, the property is well maintained and the staff is polite and courteous. The food was also really good. They were able to make the meals to our customization, so definitely a plus there. Wi-Fi is spotty, but there is decent cell coverage, so not an issue. Would definitely recommend a visit!
The location was very much picturesque and specifically on the days we stayed there was mist surrounding the property on evening as well as the morning. We took a stroll and plenty of photos in the morning in the tea estate nearby which is very much at the entrance of the property. I would recommend this property for anyone who prefers a secluded place far from the crowded city stays. The last 2 kms of the approach road would be a bit tricky but drivable. The food during our stay was good as well and we did enjoy the BBQ chicken from the dinner menu. The food was delivered on time and staff were courteous and kind during our stay. I would definitely considered going back here in future. The rooms were clean while the bathroom door was a bit squeaky. Even though I was skeptical of the room being adjacent to the dining area, the view compensated for the same and easy access to the back area from balcony directly. I didnt have any disturbance as I had worried from the dining area.
The rooms and the resort were clean and very well maintained.
The staff was really courteous, professional and helpful. The food was also nice.
It was a wonderful stay and would surely like to visit again.
Location is good middle nowhere tea estates before reach resort 1 kilometer approx uphill driving road little scary . Self drivers should care fully drive like small cars. Atmosphere it is premium and peace full.rooms are neat and clean food only little bit expensive but ok for middle of now where getting tasty food. Good location for family and get together.
Scenic and very serene away from city. Beautiful and huge property. You can explore the tea gardens and hills. The property has many beautiful sunset spots.
Food options are limited but very tasty. Wifi connection is bad. Approach road is very steep.
Rooms are huge with the best views. Best place at this price for staycation.
Our family recently stayed at Green Nest, Kotagiri, and we loved every moment of it! The resort is surrounded by stunning tea plantations and hill views, which we enjoyed daily from our spacious connecting rooms and the large verandah sit-out.
The food was outstanding — the buffet breakfast had a great variety, and the meals at Berrypeckers Restaurant were consistently flavorful and fresh.
The property is very family-friendly. We spent quality time playing table tennis and carrom, and the walking trails into the hills and tea estates were a wonderful way to explore the area and enjoy the fresh air.
The only issue we faced was with the room intercom system, which was faulty and hard to hear — hopefully, that’s resolved soon.
Overall, Green Nest offered the perfect mix of comfort, nature, and recreation. A fantastic choice for anyone visiting Kotagiri. Highly recommended!
We had a wonderful stay at the resort! The room was spacious, clean, and came with a balcony offering a beautiful view. It's an ideal place if you're planning a group getaway with friends or family, as they offer multiple room options and a cozy common area just outside the rooms—perfect for casual gatherings.
They also have separate rooms suited for single-family stays, providing privacy while still being part of the larger group setup if needed. The rooms and shared spaces are well-furnished with comfortable sofas, making it easy for everyone to relax and enjoy their time together.
The food was another highlight—delicious, with a variety of options, and reasonably priced. If the weather is pleasant, the resort staff is happy to arrange open-air lunches or dinners, which adds a special touch to the experience.
The staff were friendly, respectful, and always ready to help with any requests. The resort also has great recreational facilities including a play area for kids, a badminton court, and a volleyball court—something for everyone to enjoy!
Overall, it's a perfect spot for both relaxation and group fun. Highly recommended!
The resort was so pleasant and elegant.
Staffs are so respectful.
Food is really good.
Overall a nice stay.
Highly recommend for those who want to stay peacefully.
I had a perfect stay at Green Nest Resort! The room was beautifully appointed, the food was delicious, and the staff were courteous and attentive. The location is truly amazing, with breathtaking views that made my stay even more special. Everything was just as expected, and I couldn't ask for more. Highly recommend Green Nest Resort to anyone looking for a relaxing and rejuvenating getaway!
The resort’s grounds are breathtaking, blending lush tropical landscapes with elegant architecture. Our room, was spacious, impeccably clean, and equipped with luxurious amenities like a plush king bed, a private balcony with stunning views, and a state-of-the-art bathroom .The attention to detail in the decor was remarkable, combining modern comfort with local cultural touches.
Nice clean property with good ambience and food . Would suggest people to take royal rooms for better view . If anyone is looking for serene , calm experience better prefer Kotagiri over Ooty . Only negative is approach road & please keep cycles in good condition
One of the best locations in Kotagiri — a serene and peaceful retreat. Perfect for spending quality time with your family and loved ones. We truly enjoyed our stay. The highlight was undoubtedly the food — exceptional in both taste and quality, complemented by warm and prompt service. If you’re looking for a place with great ambiance and delicious cuisine, this is it!
The housekeeping, restaurant and room services are pathetic. You call them multiple times they will not pick the phone. Their food is overpriced and not upto the mark. They take a lot of time in food preparation and also their free breakfast is same everyday. They will provide very basic south indian breakfast.
The area around the resort is good but the resort is overpriced and the overall services are not good.
Our experience at the resort was extremely disappointing. The rooms and common areas were not maintained well, and overall hygiene was lacking. The breakfast spread was very limited, with hardly any options to choose from. What made things worse was the attitude of the staff, they were unresponsive, uncooperative, and showed little interest in helping guests. For the price we paid, we expected basic cleanliness and decent service, but unfortunately, it was a completely unpleasant and regretful stay. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this resort to anyone.
The location is the best. Nestled amidst tea plantations, we woke up to stunning views and the chirping of birds. There is a hiking trail up the mountain and we can also walk around the tea plantation. The restaurant offers excellent choice of food & the breakfast was yummy. It could have been a perfect stay but little things mar the joy. In spite of two reminders our room was not restocked with sachet of milk powder. I missed my morning coffee....
We stayed at this resort for just one day, but it was truly unforgettable! The views of the tea gardens and mountains were absolutely breathtaking—waking up to that scenery was a highlight in itself. The trek was both refreshing and scenic, perfect for nature lovers. The food was excellent, especially the breakfast which had a great variety and tasted amazing. What stood out even more was how kid-friendly the place is—there were plenty of activities to keep the little ones engaged and entertained. Overall, a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. Highly recommend this resort for families and nature lovers alike!
Excellent, no words. Spme of the staff were more impressed us, like Divya, Santosh, Freda and all others. Room service, house keeping and front office excellent.
Landscaping is excellent, and what more impressed me is that Birds noise in the morning and evening. Rooms are quite specious and Wash room too. Restaurant is excellent and foods are very yummy.
