Great location in downtown LB!!! We did plenty of walking. This is why I choose this hotel.
Pros:

The room was very quaint, smaller than most other hotels but it had everything we needed. Not much room to move around but considering we didn't spend much time in room it was perfect for the night.

Cons:

Although I knew they did not have an elevator, I still didn't like the stairs. Staff was helpful in carrying luggage to our room.

Nice & quiet
Cons:

1st Window was cracked/ broken, window lock did not work. We climbed 3 flights of stairs which my fiancée wasn’t happy about it!

We flew in to Long Beach the day before our cruise. Such a cute little boutique hotel!
Pros:

Walking distance to the beach and right in the middle of downtown Long Beach. We had the opportunity to dine local for three meals. Although our room was not quite ready for an early check in, we were able to have our luggage held so that we could get some lunch and walk the neighborhood. The bed was extra comfortable and the mini fridge/coffee maker set up was a great surprise.

Cons:

Everything exceeded expectations!

Pros:

Great extension at Hotel Royal
Pros:

The bed was comfy and the room had a decent amount of space.

Cons:

There wasn't really anywhere to put clothes besides a few hangers on a hallway entryway rack. Also, the shower door didn't close all the way and it was super small so water would flood the floor everytime my boyfriend and I showered. Luckily they did provide extra towels by the iron.

Surpassed my expectations
Pros:

I really felt comfortable and relaxed at this hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was perfect and had everything I needed. The shower had really good pressure and the bathroom was super clean. The bed was comfy and the hotel was quiet for a good nights rest. I will definitely return.

Pros:

I did like the staff when I walked in. They were really nice and I like the fact that I had a bathroom and a sink in microwave

Cons:

I did not like the appearance of the room like they could put new paint cleanup in the corners. Put real blinds on the windows and fixed state. Doors, because I had to put my suitcase in front of the door and the area. It's kind of sketchy.

Hotel Royal - Incredible Retro Classic
Pros:

The rooms are a little small, more like studio apartments when you were in college. Very clean and stocked with a refrigerator, coffee maker, hair dryer and shampoo/conditioner. The staff, especially Jose and Rosie, worked very hard to get us into the right rooms when we needed a couch for our daughter who decided to tag along. Short walk to the Long Beach Grand Prix (3 blocks) and close to downtown central just to walk and eat.
