Hotel Royal is not typical, and it is pleasant, but you need to be flexible in your expectations.
Pros:

Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere, and not at all a typical corporate hotel feeling. The building has quirky, historical charm, and the location so central in Long Beach that we could have ditched the car.

Cons:

The room was tiny, with an HVAC unit standing in the small amount of floor space. We didn't need to spend much time in the room, and that made it OK. The common area is really a staff/guest lounge with a coffeepot. Good coffee, though.

Cons:

Well they charged extra for a parking spot that was not secure, they didn’t warned about it and all our pertenece was stolen! We requested the surveillance footage and they never provided! So we lost a lot….
Plus that the AC was not working properly so be in the room on day time was not great

Cute little hotel
Pros:

The staff was friendly

Cons:

We had some broken fixtures in our room including a lamp and the mini-split AC unit above the door, but there was a portable AC window unit in place, so the room was only hot for the first 5 or 10 minutes after arrival.

Pros:

Great location and I loved set up with the street entrances for each series of rooms. The keypad entry was cool and meant I didn’t have to worry about remembering my room key. Plus it was without a doubt the most comfortable hotel bed I’ve slept in in years.

Küche schlecht ausgestattet , zu wenig Besteck und gläser
Küche müsste dringend mal sauber ausgewischt werden.
Sowie der Boden und auch das Badezimmer.

I suppose you get what you get for the price, but I would have much rather paid more for comfort.
Cons:

We did not recieve a call about when we would be able to check in. They did not clean the room. There was an item in the freezer that was not ours. We didn't realize the building was part of a separate building next door. The Unit was not clean. No complimentary waters although indicated.
