Excellently managed 138 room hotel in Plateau center.
Pros:

My wife and I stayed 5 nights, arriving at 2PM after the free hotel transfer from the ABJ Airport.
The English speaking manager copied our passports, processed the police check-in & payment, then we took one of the 2 elevators to the 5th floor.
Room #511 was carpeted, clean but a bit tight, opening to a double closet and a fully outfitted bathroom with a glass rain shower. The bedroom had a comfortable queen across a shelving desk with a chair, full minibar, water & kettle, a large TV(BBC, Bloomberg, CNN in English & many other channels) and an easy chair. The window wall had an expansive view of Tour ‘F’, the Felix Boigny Stadium and Pont Ado. Fast WiFi, good lightning & several outlets.
The 6:30AM breakfast was superb and excellently serviced with customized coffees/omelettes in addition to the buffet: fresh fruits/juices, 3 muesli, yogurts, hot dishes(boiled eggs, potatoes, spicy baked beans, rice, sausage), cheeses/ham, speciality salads, many breads, croissants/cakes and an excellent pianist,.
Overall, we enjoyed this modern hotel’s ATM, lovely clean pool & scenic 9 station gym.

Avoid this hotel. Find somewhere else
Pros:

Worst experience for a self-proclaimed, so-called 5-star hotel. Every day was a new headache, right up to the very last day. Inoperable elevators, , no water pressure, warm refrigerator, terrible food, and worst of all, the customer service was nonexistent. On day one, I had very simple, non-demanding requests: 2 shower towels, 5 bottles of water daily, and to leave the key-card in the slot by the door. I had to request this almost daily for the entire duration of my stay. One day my request for water was made 3x over a 2 hour period which was met with a laugh by housekeeping and a snide smile by the desk attendant and the duty manager completely ignored the incident. On my checkout day, I was purposely charged 2x for one day which I disputed but never received a response. The only person that seemed to care about his clientele was the kitchen manager who was obviously disconcerted with his staff when I came to him with my complaints. The majority of the staff were lazy and obviously couldn't be bothered with the inconveniences of the clientele. There was no miscommunications through the entire stay, I may not speak French, but I certainly got my moneys worth with my translator app.

Outstanding Stay!
Pros:

I can't speak of other locations in the area, but this hotel is in a great location, with awesome amenities, and very attentive and friendly staff.

The room was very spacious with all amenities necessary for a great stay, including a mini fridge, hot water, a very comfortable bed and pillows, and very nice city views.

The bar/restaurant downstairs is awesome, and the pool and lounge area is beautiful and well groomed. Dodo and Jean, the bartenders, really went above and beyond to ensure that I was well taken care of!

The hotel is amazing, but it is a bit pricey at over $200/night, but it is of similar standards as a Hilton or Marriott property. I definitely recommend staying here while in Abidjan, with a short walk to the stadium and French Embassy.

An Exceptional Stay at Tiama
Pros:

This was my first time at Tiama, where I stayed for five nights. I must say I was pleasantly surprised by everything they offer. Their breakfast, lunch, and dinner were amazing, and the room I received was very clean and well-maintained. I’ll definitely be coming back to Tiama!

Solid choice in Plateau
Pros:

The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle from the airport, and they reportedly have staff waiting for you with a hotel sign after customs. My travel agent had informed the hotel of my arrival, but when I exited customs, no-one was there. After a 16-minute wait and some phone calls, the driver arrived. Traffic in Abidjan can be heavy, it took us about 45 minutes to reach the hotel

Check-in was quick and friendly, and the receptionist spoke some English although to my surprise many other staff members did not; there was a constant language barrier. However, in the restaurant, they always had someone there who knew English well enough.

My room on the 10th floor was rather small for a five-star. The bed was comfortable and there were sockets by the bed, and in addition, there was a coffee table, an armchair, a desk, a fridge, a safe and a 0.5 L water bottle in the room. A/C worked well. Overlapping curtains helped keep the light out in the morning. The room was recently renovated, in very good condition and felt fresh and clean. Wifi was free, unlimited, easy to use, fast and reliable.

The bathroom came with an overhead as well as a hand-held shower, no bathtub. The shower worked nicely the first night, with ample hot water and great water pressure. However, for the next 55 hours, the hotel experienced immense trouble with their water system, and all I could get for two whole days was cold water and an awful water pressure. Taking a shower was almost impossible. First, they promised to fix it by 10 am, then noon, then 5 pm, then 10 pm and after that there were no promises anymore, and no compensation offered, either. I requested complimentary breakfast, which I got on two mornings. In the end, the problem was fixed after 55 hours.

Amenities in the bathroom included slippers and a bathrobe as well as single-use shampoo, shower gel, body lotion and a bar of soap. No conditioner. I appreciate the single-use items as I don't find the wall-mounted containers – that so many hotels nowadays use in order to save money – hygienic. In addition, there was a shoeshining sponge, much needed in dusty Abidjan.

Breakfast was served in the ground floor restaurant from 6:30 to 10. The buffet cost 16 000 CFA, which is a lot, but by African standards, the buffet was very good and items such as cheeses and ham were of high quality. There were several hot items as well as an egg station with omelettes served to the table. Cold items included all the basics as well as several types of salads and some Arabian items.

I did not have dinner in the restaurant, but ordered room service a couple of times. The food came quickly and was of high quality. By Western standards, prices are fair even if they are very high for locals.

There is a small swimming pool with surprisingly cool water on the mezzanine floor, open all day.

The hotel is located in the Plateau business district, two blocks north of the most central area. I found the location good, and reaching other neighbourhoods was easy by taxi for about 2000 CFA / ride. I paid 141 EUR/night, without breakfast, and I felt the hotel was well worth it. I would love to give them a higher rating, but the water problem really made my stay uncomfortable and clearly such matters should be solved a lot more quickly, even during the weekend. However, I would still return to the hotel for my next visit to Abidjan.

Tiama
Pros:

Awesome hotel with kind and helpful staff. Food at the breakfast buffet and evening menu was great as well. I highly recommend the hotel and would stay again! Only issue was no hot water in shower for a few days. The gym could also benefit from more weightlifting equipment.

Comfortable with Expensive Breakfast
Pros:

Hotel Tiama is centrally located and has decent service. The buffet is overpriced but you can have food delivered through Yango. The desk staff is not very friendly but they did give me a late checkout at no charge so I would use them again.
