The food was excellent. The shuttle to the V&A was very good.
The property is spotlessly clean, INCREDIBLY welcoming and all the staff were FANTASTIC, especially Kayle and Lethokuhle on the front desk who were OUTSTANDING!
Room was clean and really comfortable. Complimentary water, and the usual tea coffee making facilities. Great views from pretty much any room as you get Table Mountain one side and down to the sea the other.
Breakfast, was again, great quality food, genuine and warm service, with a great choice of fruit, yogurts, pastries, juices and cooked breakfast.
I also ate in the coffee shop a few times too - great value vs European prices and quality of food and service was again excellent.
A genuine and heartfelt thumbs up on this property and I would 110% stay here again for the warmth of welcome alone, and the fact that the hotel is as beautiful as it is, is a bonus!!
Nothing - it was a great stay, in a beautiful hotel!
THIS is what every hotel stay should feel like!
Stayed at this hotel several times, we love it.The staff are so friendly, a special thank you to Hester and Warren in the Stella bar. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
The breakfast was fantastic. Staff were friendly. Location was great and we enjoyed the pool.
The quality of the buffet breakfasts was excellent, though the service for Tea coffee etc. was not good. The service and quality of food in the Stella Bar Restuarant was excellent.
The Free Shuttle Service to the V&A waterfront was excellent.
Tea Coffee service in the main Dining room was very slow.
We stayed here initially for one night after getting off our cruise as it was part of the package. Was traveling with my mom so we needed 2 beds which we had asked for and it had to get switched as we were all checking in. I told the gentleman checking us in they I was fine with the downgrade from what the others were getting so we could have two beds. We thought our room was ready and we got up there and of course there was only 1 bed that couldn’t be separated, so we had to go back down. Checked it off as a simple misunderstanding even though I had confirmed it would be two beds, not a huge deal and they were able to adjust it quickly. We were returning from the post cruise back to Cape Town and staying for a few more days, so we just decided to here again. Cue in the hiccups starting with the issue of them wanting me to put down a deposit online to confirm our booking since they were quite full on the days we were coming back. Issue was that the link didn’t work, so I called them back only to find out that the lady they had called me to confirm my room actually cancelled our reservation (granted this was only about a 2 hour time difference). So on the phone with someone else trying to send the confirmation and the booking for the deposit and it is still not working and she says there is no other way to put down the money expect through this link that isn’t working. So now we are concerned that we had no room and they were sorting our luggage until we got back. The second person I spoke with said that she would send over the booking again and made a note that we were coming and to take care of the payment when we got there. Still never received the confirmation with a working link and we are flying back to Cape Town expecting no room was reserved for us. We finally get back and checked in, but now our room isn’t ready. So the person at the desk says for us to go to the bar and have a drink on him. So we sit for over an hour expecting him to come back to get us (as he indicated) and he never did, so we had to go back to the desk just to find out our room was in fact ready but no one ever told us and we had been waiting for about 2 hours after flying all day and it was nearly 2100 at night. Other minor things were they we never got turn down service, the lady came in once around 1700 when we were getting ready for dinner and we told her we would be leaving shortly and she said she would come back, but she never did. The drain in the sink didn’t work so we had to keep it popped open. The second room felt a bit more cramped than the first time around. There are nice touches like the provided shuttle to the waterfront and a candy bar during the day. The hotel overall is nice and feels higher end, but there are some areas for improvement. The pool area and bar are lovely. The staff are nice but overall quite disorganized which is odd because there seemed to be a lot of travel groups coming and going so they should have this process down seamlessly but things just seemed off. Would maybe stay again for the location but the price seemed a bit over for what we got, especially with some of those touches just missing from our stay.
Excellent location. Very friendly personnel! Perfect breakfast!

The staff were very helpful.Food was the best we have had anywhere and very reasonable. The shuttle to the V&A and back was brilliant.
The water bottles were difficult to open till we found the knack.
Good location
Traffic noise when around the pool or sitting outside
I organised a trip for 30 colleagues including a stay at the Cullinan in Cape Town. We were each greeted with a huge grin and that was every day, every time we saw hotel staff! It’s a happy place. The food was fantastic and staff were beyond helpful. Nice and functional bedrooms and meeting space, great facilities and location. I highly recommend this hotel for your family or business trips.
We stayed at this hotel as part of a tour. Like another reviewer we found The Peach Tree Restaurant was very poor. The restaurant staff were rude, anbrupt, miserable and we were made to feel like we were an inconvenience. At breakfast items were not replenished and tea/coffee was slow to be served. The dinner serving was lukewarm/cold. As another unrelated reviewer had said they suffered a gastrointestinal illness following their stay here and we, along with 20 of our group became very ill resulting in further medical input on return to the UK some 10 days later. During our stay we experienced a water leak in our room and were swiftly moved to an alternative room by a very helpful porter however the replacement room had shards of glass on the carpet which had obviously not been thoroughly vacuumed and could’ve been dangerous since we were walking around in bare feet.
The hotel is beautiful & clean. Food are delicious 😃
