Disappointing
Cons:

The employee insisted I hand in the room key when leaving the building and pick it up when returning. After thousands of hotel stays on every continent, never had this happen.

Pros:

The hotel is an older property and a bit dated but, by Ecuadorian standards, is first rate. Plenty of hot water which is always a plus. Bedding was very comfortable. We had a room on the street side of the building, so thete was some street noise but nothing that interrupted our sleep. First rate service by front desk staff and dining room staff. Complimentary breakfast was fresh and plentiful. Bar service was very limited. We will definately stay here when we visit Loja.
