It looks good and has a nice location, but that's about it! The location is good if you like it here, but you can't sleep because of the noise from cars and people, etc. The windows are far too thin. The beds are incredibly hard, and the duvets are too thin for winter. The heating is turned off at night, so it's incredibly cold. I couldn't sleep because of the cold. Never take the 5th floor because the windows don't reach all the way down. Only if you stand directly in front of the window than you have a nice view. But if you sit down or lie in bed, all you see is a white border under a window. The noise from outside is 24/7! It feels a bit like a prison. They're friendly here but don't offer solutions or even small compensation. The things they promise, like upgrades, don't materialize either. You have to go to the main hotel further afield for everything, so you have to wear your coat and sometimes even get through the rain to get to breakfast. There's nothing here! Not even a toilet in the reception area—you can hardly call it a reception. They are friendly, though.
Great hotel! We stayed for 3 days prior to arrival cruise. Excellent location for visiting Barcelona. Real close to Las Ramblas. The staff is amazing especially Ana at the front desk...she's the best!
What a lovely experience we had in this hotel for my 50th birthday celebration.
The hotel is perfectly located in this wonderful city .
The had everything we needed and was so comfy with great views of the port .
Can’t wait to return we’re definitely be staying here again .
We needed somewhere in Barcelona which was nice, had a separate area for a cot for our son and in a central location and this hotel for the bill.
We love the Port Vell area so this hotel was perfectly positioned for us. The room was clean, comfortable, and had a separate kitchenette area making it perfect for us as a family.
Staff were friendly and the pool and bar area were perfect to unwind after a day of exploring.
We only stayed two nights at Duquessa Suites and it is a beautiful hotel with a luxury apartment-like feel. Our room that we booked did not have a working a/c. The Ukrainian receptionist was very attentive and sent maintenance up right away. The maintenance guy thought he fixed the problem, but the a/c only went on for a few minutes and turned off. We had a very uncomfortable sleep. The next morning I reported the problem and let the reception know that our room was very hot, he sent another maintenance guy up. The maintenance guy reported we had to change rooms.. I accepted the room change and was told to have all our belongings packed and ready to go by noon and our room would be ready by 3pm. After being out for a few hours I realized how inconvenient it was to have a baby and no room that I had paid to have for 4 hours. Also, it was raining in Barcelona. We returned to the hotel at around 1 and asked if a room was ready. The receptionist seemed a little frustrated with us and gave us keys to another room. We opened the door and a man was changing, as he gave us a booked room. This was extremely awkward. We then got an upgraded room right away, which had a great view. The receptionist was not as friendly anymore after this issue was resolved. I felt bad, and I was not trying to get a room upgrade, but we really could not enjoy our stay in such a hot room. I just wish we felt “welcomed” after the fact. Otherwise the hotel has everything you need for a family and it’s a perfect location in Barcelona!
The property is a little hidden away and does not really have a lobby. Its main hotel which is new has a better ambience.
The room size was big and our room had a beautiful view. The gym and breakfast area is all in their sister property which is a few minutes walk.
Very close to the gothic quarter and the Barceloneta area.
Elevator broken, A/c went out 2 times. Had to move rooms. Then it happened again the next day. Place is run down.
Loved being by the water. And the room was spacious for our family.
On Expedia they showed an exterior room as a picture and we had an interior room. Quiet but no view of any kind. Lobby area was weak
Quality property in an excellent location
It was cozy. Close to the train station.
We spent 2 nights at Duquesa Suites and overall had a very good experience. Although there was some construction nearby, we didn’t hear any noise during our stay.
Our suite was lovely, with a king bed and a twin that worked perfectly for the 3 of us. It also had a small kitchenette with a table and chairs, plus an armchair. Everything was clean and functional, though the space could use a little updating—the wooden floors were uneven in spots, and the shower area felt a bit tired.
The staff were definitely a highlight. A special thank you to Luis, who went above and beyond by giving us umbrellas so we could explore in the rain and offering great restaurant recommendations. Another staff member kindly provided towels for our offsite snorkeling adventure.
We also appreciated the complimentary rooftop bar drinks. Since the suites bar closes earlier, we used them at the main hotel instead. Guests at the suites have full access to the hotel’s amenities, which are just a 2-minute walk away.
Overall, a friendly, comfortable stay with excellent service
The stay was absolutely phenomenal! I loved the location of the hotel, and Anna at the front desk was so lovely to interact with after a long travel day! Our room was serviced daily without even having to ask, I can not recommend this hotel enough!
Great location and room was perfect for few days
Rooftop with great views, dipping pool
The area surrounding the hotel was under construction during our visit which is not the fault of the hotel. As a result of the construction, a lot of homeless were around who would urinate in alleys and building walls creating an awful smell nearby the entrance. Obviously once construction is done, this should cease. But worth knowing in the near term. The pictures on the website are not true to form for the pool area. It is outdated, small and not well maintained. View is great though. What makes this hotel worth every penny is the staff and the gigantic rooms. The location is fantastic as well. They have a much nicer sister hotel a few doors down, too. Loved our stay. The pros outweighed any negatives I listed above.
Rooms were spacious, well kept, and had lovely views. Rooftop pool and bar tables. Nice location at end of gothic quarter, easy to walk into shops and restaurants and also easy to access by taxi on main road in front.
Spacious room and amazing area!
My journey to Barcelona was made absolutely comfortable at this hotel! It is an apartment style hotel, which makes it very convenient even when travelling as a family. The rooms come equipped with all kitchen utilities, an induction cooktop and a microwave. The location is very convenient - a 10 minute walk to Gothic quarter, close to Barceloneta, Palau Musica, supermarkets and other iconic locations. Even at night, it did not feel unsafe even for a moment when walking around the area. The staff is absolutely kind & polite and attend to your every need.
The housekeeping staff does a very detailed and quick job when tidying up the room for the day.
The breakfast service for this hotel is available at the Duquesa de Cardona hotel, which is a 2 minute walk from this property. It serves amazing breakfast!
All in all, I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling either solo or with their family in Barcelona!!!
Great location and suites are well laid out.
The pool is very small and shallow, so you can't swim.
